I think that would be 2592 rpm... pm me your email, I'll send you a simple spreadsheet and you can check to see if I screwed it up. :stars:

(Rick, check your email. I sent it to you -- it might be wrong)

I just had a 426 put in my car and will be picking it up today. I also had a Quaife, 1000hp halfshafts and 3.23 gears put in. I will let you know how it does.

Really? I thought the difference would be more than that with 3.55s. I run 2500 RPMS at 80 with my 3.06 gearing.

Thanks Dave, got it! I need to go drive around at various rpm ranges to see what I could tolerate on a daily basis. Of course I don't need my car to get up to 165mph, but I also don't want to be pissed off on the hwy cruising at 3k rpms all the time. LOL

Just pm me your email addr. I'll send the sheet to you. or anybody else for that matter. the calculation is very straighforward it's just tedious to do on paper every time and the ones on the web just don't present the information exactly like we want.

Use one sheet to see what rpm you'll be turning at a given mph in each gear.
use the other sheet to see what mph you'll be turning at a given rpm in each gear.

ie. pick a shift point and you'll know if you're going to be in 3rd or 4th at a particular trap speed (allowing for a little slop if you're tc isn't locked up)

no. if you're cruising you're going to be in 5th at speeds from about 45 mph on up. Shift point is pretty much only WOT unless your autosticking with auto upshift. Once you're in 5th you got what you got
