ok, ok, so for those of you who recall my torment of not being able to play with my predator when it came in a couple of weeks ago, due to my wife putting the clamps on cuz it was for my christmas present, tomorrow i get to open it and play!!! woo-hoo!!! question - any tips for a tuner newbie????? i have 93 octane here and i have basic bolt on mods (cai, hi-flo cats, cat back, etc)..... any tips on what has worked well for you guys. raised shift pionts, rev limiters, fan temps, etc. really looking for some insight please!!!! thanks fellas!!
I dont know anything about the Predator Chris other than what I have read. I was talking on the phone yesterday to the guy that bought my former SRT8..he loves the predator and is amazed by the power increase...the car is stock except for a CAI and catbacks....he said something about an "R17" tune being great?.....anyway Merry Christmas my friend..:thumb2:
thanks curtis!!!! did you ever dail in the cmr tunes you were getting from dave at B&G????? still interested in this route as well!!! just do not want anything too hot without spending some time on a dyno......
What Curtis said about the 17 shifting harder....Phil (owner of my SRT8) said that he tried the 18 but it did not shift near as hard as the 17 so he went back to the 17..
curtis you are currently running heads/cam with a predator tune? do you have it piggybacking on a b&g flash? how do you like it? was it all custom done or did you use a canned tune?
this is kinda what i was thinking of being able to do. would like to get things more dialed in, but i do not have a wideband set up in the car......from my understadning, the a/f numbers logged on the pred are not clean enough to really help a cmr tuner correct????
curtis, many thanks. you are a wealth of knowledge. have you tried using just a b/g? if so is it a noticable difference?
thanks man. ive heard nightmare stories about heads/cam cars running a predator but you have put my mind at ease. thanks again!
curtis - for those that have heads/cam, but no wide band, things would be ok if they had a cmr tune on a dyno so to read and monitor a/f correctly. once this is determined, and the tune set, no need for a wideband correct????
