Went to the track Saturday and the racing gods were very unforgiving. There was some bad JU-JU going on that day. Started running the cars down the track an hour and a half late. The very first run was a Jr Dragster that blew a tire while turning off the track and rolled onto its lid. Kid was fine. I knew of at least 7 cars that broke down after 2 rounds. I only made 2 runs and decided to call it quits before I broke. 1st run was 14.1 @ 99...........2nd run 14.0 @100 (New track record for me) DA was about 5800'. While I was waiting in the burnout box a car broke just ahead of me. That was my sign. After this run pack it up and head home. One bright point was there was a Nissan GTR ran down the track. That thing was sick. I saw him make 2 runs. He ran 12.2 @ 120! And he was leaving soft off the line with a 2.1 60'. Only got one pick of the truck, but it is a good one!
Nice runs, Chuck. lol Great picture. Looks like the fronts are off the ground while burning out. hehe
Thanks Ron! It sure is different racing here compared to a sea level track. Felt like the truck just fell on its butt on the start! I had to look at my previous time slips to see if my 60' was slower. Still the same. Just glad I didn't break like everybody else seemed to be doing.
Nice! And yeah, my mom's always telling me about the elevation up in Cheyenne. Can't imagine what a slug my car'd be up there.
lol Yea, the wonders of high elevation. And just think, my track starts at the elevation you had. hahahaha Glad you didn't break either. lol You didn't notice the sluggishness when you were here?
Chuck, fwiw...when I left Sacramento, at WOT I was 12.3-12.4 A/F according to my Innovate gauge. When I got home, I was in the 9's. So far, I have removed 13.5% fuel using my Predator and am back to 11.9-12.0 A/F Ratio at WOT. Niiiiiiice...gotta love altitude. I have been dreaming of a supercharger with small boost...I see it in my near future.
