You are still a douche! LMAO! I don't recall hitting ANYTHING remotely hard enough to have cracked the cooler. Neither does Mrs. Momo... so, one of us did, I/we just don't know which!

The shields were replaced by the dealer. JEEZ! BTW: If Ryan was driving my car, it'd have been 3 inches closer to the ground... I believe he'd have put it over its recommended payload.

Asswipe! Thanks for standing up for a brutha! lol

Ah, the in-between stage of baby-to-toddler... wants to move around efficiently, but can't just yet. The frustration they get! We know it well. Just wait until they figure out how to move, then even with one kid, it'll be like herding cats! Cat herding is the stage we've been in since December and it only is getting worse!

BTW #2: Dave, you are WAY too critical of a thinker... you can imply things from what folks say at times. Just a FYI! LMAO!

Well, San Diego's most trusted source on everything Mopar (aka: Ralph, The Show) stopped by this afternoon to diagnose my backfiring and rough idle...

Lets just say that spark plugs 1-4 were in tip-top shape. #5 on the other hand, not so much. The 'gap' was almost non-existent. I have a blown #5 piston and need a new engine.

What the EXACT cause of this failure was, I/we can't say for 100% sure, but it was either over heating and/or the blower (the later IMO). When my cooler leaked fluid, it didn't leak much at all (slow drip), so there should (and was) plenty of coolant to handle the after cooler. So, you all know that I'm no expert by any means, so I really don't know what to say past what I just did.

By baby is fucked. Ralph will help (as if anyone should doubt the guy), but she's hurt. Hopefully Vortech will warranty the work/parts/labor. If not I'll try another route. If that doesn't work.....

Anyone want to buy an immaculately kept 07 Vortech and KW-equipped SRT8 Charger with ONLY 18,000 miles on it? Oh, did I mention the engine's shot?!?!

Seriously? I never touched the Vortech tune, and haven't beat the car AT ALL since it was installed... so I'm at a loss. Sure, I've gotten on it, but heavy beatings? No sir.

I am, however, optimistic that our good pals at Vortech will step up... they have in the past. I'll keep you all informed of my plight when I have time.

Thanks for the advice, etc. RALPH, YOU THE MAN. PERIOD. If you ever need anyone arrested on trumped-up charges, you know where to go! LMAO!!! *Don't forget, Rick still owes you sucky-sucky

I Am Sure The Prognosious Is Not Good. Cylinder #5 Had The Plug Smashed Closed. I Hope That We Can Get It Fixed Without Much Brain Damage.

How Much Will You Sell Me The Car For, As Is?

RED MAGNUM, BLACK 300, SILVER CHARGER. JUST MAYBE.

he could if you two joined forces and went on the road with the "hide a road cone" act.

jason, im hella sorry to hear about this. vortech will no doubt take the blame on this one. they should have upgraded your plugs when they did the install. this should never have happened.

Sorry to hear it, Jason. I know its easy to talk crap about people and blown-up engines, but considering the considerable investment involved and how much fun you had with it, I can't imagine how bummed you must be about the situation.

Hate to hear this Jason...there is a local 06 Charger SRT8 sitting at my dealer right now with a busted #5 piston...they think he may have dropped a valve....cracked the block and put the rod thru the oil pan...........the engine in this car is actually the engine out of my former 8....he bought the mods I had and we just swapped engines (there was less than 100 miles diff on our ODs)....it was N/A with PPP heads, cam and tune...

    Brains. :)

I know Jason may think otherwise, but I think that heat killed his motor. His coolant loop probably vapor locked and he was likely putting a 200 degree intake charge into the motor. Everything heated up, the rings went solid and popped off his top ring land.

So I think we're surviving by staying cool. Double coolers, making sure the coolant loop is working well, and water/meth for boost over 3-4 pounds.

Its not inevitable if you're smart about it. :friends:

Let's talk about this. Would you have seen that monitoring with a scan gauge? I know the PCM reports exhaust and/or cat temps but I think that's modeled/calculated. Do we have any physical temp sensors on the exhaust side?
