http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/25/california-to-reduce-carbon-emissions-by-banning-black-cars/ ....once the start running GM and Chrysler they can make whatever colors they want. If you need to get rid of any CA. black cars let me know. I'll make room for them here. Who thinks up this stuff.......Kevan ?
Holy fucking shit. Just when you think it can't get any more insane, they get more insane. Our only hope is that these people get so 'green' that they become dependent on photosynthesis for survival. Then I can whip out the Round-Up and take care of all of them. Legally. Just more proof that Darwin was an optimist.
Yeah, time to get serious about leaving California...between the 10% sales tax, 11% unemployment (probably higher) and yeah, the really inane and insane legislation...
Glad I left that place back in 06, its got the best weather and the most shit to do, but the people (I use the word with some restraint) are F-uped.
I just got out here in '02. I really hate to leave between the weather, the food and the crazy exotic cars and car culture, but yeah. Its just getting beyond ridiculous, if it wasn't already.
i dont think i can leave. ill just buy a house in tx or something....california is where its at. ive been everywhere, i would live in az, idaho, wisconsin, georgia and tx.
My gift to the California Air Resources Board: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tREbXcNu8OQ (BTW- if anyone knows the name of the actress who plays the limo driver, please PM me. I'm having mental pause remembering her name. Thanks). Hey Hemp Junkies in 90210-land: Did you pass 6th grade science? If you did, then you'd know that black ABSORBS light, thus containing it as best it can. Sure, it releases some heat.....but NOTHING compared to what would be REFLECTED (direct sunlight anyone?) back towards the ozone. Why hit it from one side when you can jack it from two directions? Sorry, but you can't have light without heat.
You mean you guys just heard about this? who knows maybe one day they'll realize that the black asphalt contributes to global warming too!:imao: Then maybe you'll have to drive your state approved hybrid on dirt roads! only during restricted low light hours while the wind is blowing (to help keep your white car cool and not producing heat).
bwahahahahahahahahahahahahaha You ask WHO votes for this CRAP... This is who... ...and the dumbasses who vote for her! Nancy Pelosi has represented California's Eighth District in the United States House of Representatives since 1987. She was elected speaker of the House of Representatives on Jan. 4, 2007. Nancy Pelosi's father, Thomas D'Alesandro Jr., served as Baltimore's mayor for 12 years after representing the city for five terms in Congress. Nancy Pelosi's brother, Thomas D'Alesandro III, also served as mayor of Baltimore. Nancy Pelosi graduated from Trinity College in Washington, D.C., in 1962.
BUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...gasp...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Just when I thought California couldn't get stupider, I see a story like this. Thank you God for making it possible for me to leave California!
I'll say it again ... VOTE ALL INCUMBANTS OUT!!!! Each and every one, I can't believe we elected these retards, only complete total MORONS would think up this crap, how the hell did they get elected?!?! Can't wait to see what's next.
whats funny is...they say to get rid of black cars.........to reflect heat.... why dont they just paint the roads and tops of buildings white? one "new" cool thing that they are doing now are having "green roofs" on buildings... extends the life of the roof...and it doesnt give off as much heat and all that garbage... but no...lets ban black cars...that will totally work
Today I had to use the AC, but I was actually driving the car, with a baby in the back. When I had to stop, I turned the engine off and I made sure to park in the shade, so I didn't have to wait as long for the AC to cool off the car. Novel ideas huh?
Wow I just read the whole report on all of this. In theory it kinda makes sense (temperature vs A/C use the rest is crap) but it is far from practical. Something not even brought up is wear over time, minor damage etc. I mean are you guys going to have to have the car repainted every time you get a rock chip? What about waxing you know swirl marks or even dirt is going to change its reflectivity. Man I think southern orange county is gorgeous but shit like this is actually making me rethink wanting to live there.
