    IT FITS!

i was wondering if anyone has tryind to fit the non-turbo Hurst shifter for 01-09 pt cruisers into any 00-to 05 neon? Floor pans are the same. shifter patterns are the same t-350 to t-850. just was wondering i really want to put one in. i have seen pictures of cars with them installed.

More then likely you will have to get a hold of Hurst and find out. I don't think any of us owners here have tried that.

Hurst does make a shifter for our cars (Neon SRT-4). If the Product Part# for the non-turbo pt cruisers and the Neon SRT-4 are the same then I would think it would fit and work.

I know someone with a Hurst shifter, but I'm pretty sure it is the Neon one he installed, not a PT Cruiser one. I think Figs has the right idea, see if you can find out the part number, and see if they are the same...or try asking someone from the Hurst website.

I know someone who installed it in his SRT-4 too. In fact, he said it had to be the non-turbo unit in order to fit. He also mentioned that the shifter shaft is about an inch longer, IIRC.

yes you are correct!! I have been look it up or a couple of days now and you have to use the non-turbo which i ordered. i was wanting a taller shifter in the car anyways and i am tired of having the shifter ball coming off too
this unit should work great!! ill post pic's and let you know how it works!!!

it bolts right in!!!!! only thing is this ine does not have the black spacer block that I seen on other Mopar Short shifters. my throw is about 1 1/2" shorter and i would suspect that the black plastic block that i am missing is why is itsnt any shorter! but it fits and its works great!

Does it feel comfortable with the ball higher up? I have the Mopar STS and the height is perfect for me.

i THINKS IT GREAT!!! I AM 6'3" AND HAD TO DO SOME TWEEKING on how it mounts and how to install the booger bushings. The PT shifter comes with polyurathane bushings for the base. I only used 2 of them on the front to angle the shifter back more and mounted the "Hurst" stick on the drivers side of the base rather then the pass. side to get it closer to me. but it bolts right in. the neon shifter does not come with the black plastic piece like on pt's and on the Mopar STS. but you replace the entire silver shifter part with a billet aluminum piece. It hangs down lower than the stock one and would be even shorter with the black plastic part but that would make it too tall to fit inside of the shifter boot. !st gear is a little close to the radio and takes some getting use to but 1st to 2nd is a little long but 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th awesome! It has positive stoppers on the shifter that you can adjust so that you don't over shift so you can bang the gears against those all day and the ball is the same size as the stock one so comfort is not an issue. The higher shifter puts the ball level with the arm rest rather than an 1" 1/2 below which i like better. You put your arm on the rest let your arm fall and it lands on to of the ball with out that weird angle down to the stock one.
