Has any one have any issues shifting, With the Techco supercharger? We get more power but do we get the stock OEM shift patterns (red line wait – shift). Does the tune we get change any of the torque management tables, or are they the same crappy ones that Chrysler gave us.
What kind of Dyno # are you guys with stock bottom ends getting?

It is possible that with the added power and faster response with the twin screw that the PCM and TCM can not keep up?

I would ask John or Justin at Modern Muscle what they did with your tune?

How's she running otherwise? What kind of numbers are "You" seeing?

They desided to keep the Techco tune in.
Haven't realy had a chance to see, just right of the bat it seemed that the car shifts like it did stock. The tune that Dyno Steve did from RDP last year was great I put down 379Hp with CAI and Exahust and nice crisp shfts with out the lag. Just figured that 7K latter I would have more than 444 Hp, translats to $107.69 per Hp.
Base motor Dyno # were 320HP
    CAI - $350
    Exhaust - $1100.
    Preditor - $375
    RDP Tune -$400
    total= $2225.
    $38. Per Hp

Well without playing the dyno numbers game. If I understand you correctly, your baseline at MM was 320??. Are you certain the motor wasn't hurt before the install??. If that's the case, I'd suggest a compression and leak down test and maybe even a peek with a bore scope.

320HP on a stock 6.1 does seem very low...

I have never seen a stock one below 351HP ever ...

I may have not seen as many dyno charts as a lot of others but I have paid attention to them...

You may want to take Cam's advice on this one...

Were you on a Mustang dyno? 444 seems really low for a 6.1 with the Techco....granted my bro has heads and cam, he got 521 coservatively on 4.5lbs. of boost.

the original base # wasn't from MM it was from a different speed shop with a pod type dyno. I will try to scan original sheet from that run, maybe I'm missing something.

Also, the tune from Techco is a conservative tune. It is designed to safely operate your car until you can have a real tuner do their thing. This holds true for any F/I kit sold.

But I would never dismiss what Cam has mentioned either. You will probably need to start talking with Techco first and go from there..

    Good luck.

Techco tune is going to be conservative...we haven't put one on a 6.1L yet or used the canned tunes, but on a 5.7 300 we made 413 and 431 with a CMR tune for reference purposes.

The Techco tune does not play with shift points or any of the firmness settings.

I will say this one more time.

You NEED to have a CMR tune done. The Techco tune is a base to to safely operate your car. No shift points or rev limits have been touched.

You are more than likely feeling the ill effects of the TCM and PCM not keeping up with the quickness of power coming from the motor.

What do I do M.M. says they don't want to touch the tune. I emailed Techco maybe they could help or do I pull Dyno Steve out of a tavern in the out back like rambo to tune the car (just kidding, I know he's probably in church as we post).

Isn't that what we do, just try to get more.
Believe it or not I just got of the phone with Techco and their going to send me a new tune to address the shifting issues, you were right the trans. cant keep up with the exceleration of the engine.
I'm going to do some data loging at my next Circuit race day and send it to them to look at.
    :thanks:

    Sorry I misread your reply.
They don't want the liability issue if they screw up the motor.
Realy sucks since they recomended 1000Hp shafts to accomidate the added power.
