So, over the last couple weeks, I've noticed a couple more little quirks about the car...Just curious if it's ok or if it can be fixed...

    1. When in auto mode, it sounds/feels like a slipping clutch when I first take off from a stop. I'm pretty sure it's normal, but clarification would be appreciated.

    2. Sometimes when the motor/tranny are cold, second gear is very jerky. It always goes away when it warms up.

    3. When going from reverse to forward, It sometimes takes forever to start moving. I usually have to push the gas a little harder to start going, but when I do, it suddenly takes off. Kinda weird. Also, once in a while, when I start going forward, the whole car shakes pretty violently. Mostly from the front end. I know that can't be normal.

Also, my drivers side fog light has gone out for the second time. I didn't replace it last time, the dealer I bought it from did, but they are 90+ miles from here, so how hard is it to replace myself?

ESP?? I'm not getting on it, so I didn't think ESP would be working...besides, the little light on the dash doesn't blink...and it only happens in auto mode. When I'm in manual mode, it doesn't happen...Unless I'm WAY off on knowing how the system actually works...

The jerking feels like a mis-fire, but again, only when it's cold.

The dealer closest to me told me to drop it off for a few days when I asked about my washer fluid sensor (which is still broken). And that was when I asked for an appointment. I can't leave the car for a few days...It's my DD. They would probably want it for a week to chase own a possible wiring problem.

You might want to get the trans fluid level checked?
Mine always feels like a slipping clutch until it gets warmed up (not really warmed up but drive maybe a couple of blocks) -- that's with a really light throttle.

That's what I was thinking, tranny fluid, sounds like more than one of your "quirks" could be fluid related.

For the record I think mine feels like a slipping clutch when starting off too but I believe that's just the way it is being an automatic. I have to say my buddy has a new VW with that DSG auto tranny and man oh man is that thing sweet! I wish ours was more like it, the way it mimics a manual is uncanny!
