    Mandan007 426's pistons look quite a bit different. Different CR and/or different tech for SC and Turbo?

    Not sure why I thought it was a 2.9L, its changed now.

    When I look at this beauty I don't know how to thank Andy and Power Ported Performance for this fantastic engine which will be part of my car soon! Can't help but be excited when I see these pics.

    How much difference does the O-Ringed block make for handling Boost?

    I'm no expert but my understanding is the head bolts can stretch under high boost causing head gasket failure. The o ring provides for additional protection from blowing a head gasket. Lubing the bolts and proper torque on the heads is a very important part of the assembly process. I believe it is good practice for the builder to torque at a low setting, then a higher setting, and then at the final torque value.

    The engine should be at BMC within the week. We are still waiting on the rear end to be delivered April 12th. Unsure when Rockland Standard Gear will complete the Tranzilla 1200 hp transmission build or when Stroud Safety will complete a custom Kelver bellhousing/trans blanket and Halon fire suppresion system. But the time is drawing near. Still have not decided on seats or what we need for meth/water system. I would say things are progressing well at this point.

    It will not be to BMC this week. We will receive it tomorrow and start assembly with the heads/cam and then ship it out. I would say by the end of next week at the earliest.

    It makes a lot of difference, for example, on a stock 6.1 engine with stock head gaskets and bolts, at 9 psi (too much boost anyway for the stock engine) the head bolts will stretch, and in short order combustion gases start leaking into the water jacket causing bubbles in the coolant tank and puking coolant. Not too mention elevated coolant temps as well.

    Hey Andy;

    How are things looking for shipping my engine to BMC?
