Vredestein does not make 295's after 275's they go up to 315's, this is driving me fucking nuts.

Sorry about that, I spoke to Cam too he is running 10 1/2"

Chris is the 300 SRT8 fender well the same? If Howdee's 315 fit how the heck wont ours, to clarify height wise it looks to be ok the 315 diameter is the same as a 245 tire, the width is what has me losing sleep here.

    Chris,
Alot depends on the rims too. I have been running 315s (pic above)and they are the first and longest running Vredestiens on any lx on these forums. There is one small spot on the inner well each side where the clearence is only 1 1/4" as checked with a guage block. the rest of the well has far more room.

100% agree howard...... rim offset has everything to do with the fitment, as well as ride height!! i am slammed and have 10 1/2" wheels that were widened to create a very negitive offset to the inside. because of this i must run spacers just to clear 285 / 295 size tire. if tony leaves his car stock height, and the wheels are offset correctly (not sure if 25mm is enough) then he probably will be able to run the 315.

Chris im leaving the height stock, no lowering for me, not a fan of it.

Do you mean lower the offset? Under 20mm?

No, it is the opposite of what you are thinking. As the offset number is getting smaller (25 to 20), you are moving the rim away from the inner wall of the fender.

This is hard to explain but going from a 25mm to a 20mm offset, you are moving the flat part of the rim (with the lug holes in it) 5mm closer to the the center of the 10" wheel. The closer to the center of the wheel you move the flat part of the rim, the less back space you have or the more you move away from the inner wall of the fender well. Get it? 0mm offset would have the flat part of the rim at dead center of the 10" rim width. Negative offset moves the flat part of the rim to the other side of center of the 10" rim width.

The offset number is how many mm the flat part of the rim is from dead center. Positive offset = more toward the curb. Negative offset = more toward the hub of the car.

Got it thanks, so I need something around 25mm or more offset for these to fit? Or have I not got it?

And to answer you question from before, the rims will clear everything with the 20mm offset, im worried about the tires rubbing the inner walls.

No, you haven't got it. If something rubs with 20mm, then you need less offset. But remember that the less offset, the more you are pushing the wheel out toward the curb and at some point it will be too far that way. Think of it this way. With 0mm offset, nothing is going to rub on the inside wall but will anything rub outside or will the tire stick out too far outside of the fender?

With the size wheels and tires you want to use, you are walking a tightrope with not a lot of room for error.

Good stuff man, thanks got it!

Increase the offset = closer to the inner wall, decrease the offset = closer to the outer wall

Much appreciated, now to see what USW can do for me with these.

Got it! Maybe a 18mm or 15mm offset might work?

We are going to find out when I speak to USW tommorow. They also have to compensate for the Brembos and SRT8 suspension when considering the offset, so im sure there is only so far they can go also.

    Thanks buddy.

Now you're thinking right. The design of the wheel will have to compensate for the calipers. Even with all of the proper offset and backspace, if the spokes are not designed so they clear the brakes, they won't fit. I bet that USW will hook you up with something that will work for you. Share the pics when you get them on.

    Wise guy!

Ok I taked to Bismarck of USW and we settled on 18-20mm offset.

He has someone running 22's with the same tire with that offset and no rubbing.

Build them and ship them USW!!!!!
