I keep seeing ads for modern mopar drag events on the other side of the country. I would love to attend these but don't want to drive 2000 miles or more. Instead of waiting around for somebody to do something I'm proposing this: There is a Mopar Day at Infineon Raceway on Saturday June 6th 2009. My friend has been going for the last couple years and each year it gets a little bigger. There is a car show combined with bracket racing all day long. I'd love to get some heavy hitters out there to drum up some more interest. Maybe Talon in his supercharged SRT8? DVSSRT8 in is record-holder stock block N/A SRT8? Maybe John (8yourM5) could pull off some 10.xx runs? There is also a NHRA bracket race on the following day which will allow those from Southern California an extra day to justify the trip north (Trojan, Cam, the rest of you). Maybe we could get a Modern Mopar only class going on that day as well. Also maybe we could get some of the local tuners/installers (Force Fed Performance, SVS R&D and Dito's Motors) to offer gift certificates for install, tuning or dyno time in a raffle or to the winners of the brackets. Jess, perhaps you could convince Diablosport to offer up a Trinity for a raffle or to the winner of the brackets. I know the guy setting up this event and there are a couple months to make this happen. I would love to help set this up and will be talking to folks at the Spring Festival to bounce ideas around. Any thoughts?
