Now that I have tapped my windsheild washer tank, made the bracket for the pump, and installed the pump its time for phase 3 of the install. The install of the controller for the water/meth injection. I'm using Snow Performance Stage 3 controller. It is there most versatile and most accurate controller. It a progressive controller that uses both rpms and psi information to determine how much meth to inject at any given rpm and psi range. I'm taking a lot longer to install this kit because I'm really anal about where and how things look, and I really want to make sure that everything is well thought out before committing and installing. The controller has an LCD display and looks pretty trick so I decided to install it in the cubby under the a/c controls. I made a card board template with all of the measurements of what the finished product is going to look like. Tomorrow I transer the template over to black ABS plastic and then start wiring the unit. Here are some sneak peaks of the project.
The controller is not all that complicated itself. You need to conect a switched 12 volt power source (red wire), ground (black wire), 12 volt to turn on pump (white wire), vacum/boost line, rpm signal (2 blue wires connected fuel injector) and your done. Since your using both rpm and boost signals the controller allows you to control the meth injection points and the amount being injected more precisely than an other controller on that Snow Performance offers which in turn allows you to better tune the engine. I should have some more pics later today. I will be working the mounting plate this morning and once that is done then finishing up the wiring.
This is how mine is installed. Sean Roe custom made mine when I changed from the VEC to the SCT tuner.
Hold up there.. that's a little misinformation. :ronlove: I have the Labonte Digital controller on my 780 RWHP SRT and Diesel Ford and it is also a digital with total control. :huglove:
Looks good man, real good!!! Can somebody give me a quick breakdown of what a water/meth kit does??? I'm still a bit unclear......sorry for being a dumbass, in advance.
Chase the meth cools the charge plus increases octane slighly...it helps prevent detonation and can give a small power increase due to the cooling effect.......but mainly prevent detonation especially in FI engines..
Here are a couple of more pics I forgot to post up. There of the dual nozzle set up installed on the underside of the intake manifold, and of the polished intake manifold that I did to match the Paxton kit.
