    Finally saying HI-but I'm pissed.

The first really new, not used, car for me in almost 20 years is my 5 week old 2008 300srt8, the best car I have ever had (driving MOPARS since '64) fast, great handling, good looks, all the toys. I've started accumulating goddies to install after it gets broken in (ordered a Predator yesterday) This site has been a great help. BUT this afternoon it really got broken in.

I was stopped at a red light, the only car on a clear spring day when the 83 year old man half a block behing me decidied he would miss his brake pedal (so he said). Oh, and he was driving a rat of a '91 FORD E250 van about 30 mph. He only pushed my SRT 20 feet. I got out of the car and all I could smell was the rubber burned of my nice new 245/45's. So, now at 2200 miles, the back is a mess, it tracks funny at 60mph, needs deck lid, bumper, etc and both quarters are buckled between the wheels and the back, but the tailites still work and the dash display tells me my parking assist needs service (no S**, 2 of them are on the road somewhere) He even destroyed my license plate.

Yea, I know a good body shop and they will make it right, as right as possible, but they are never the same and the value goes in the hoper with a bad Carfax history. And I get to fight with his insurance company.

Thanks for listening, I fell better now, I think.

    Well, welcome to the "C"

It really saddens me to hear these types of story's. The good news is that YOU are ok. The car can be fixed. You will be amazed at how well these cars can be put back to factory condition.

Hang in there, all will be well again.

WOW, Mopar's since 64. Outstanding. hehe

OMG!!!! Welcome and so sorry to hear about your accident. The car can be fixed or replaced, the big thing is you walked away ok. I had a friend flip his 300SRT after hitting an irrigation ditch doing 160 mph and he's alive to talk about it. Even replaced the 300.

Possibly the most awesome thing about these cars is as fast and powerful as they are, they allow you to survive when stupid things happen.

Again, welcome to the C, lots of info and friends here. :)

Hey, thanks for the good words, all. But I might be almost as "freakin' old" as Hal. Drove a '64 Dodge 330 in '64 (dad's) first one of my own was a '67 Satelite Rag in '69, then various Charger RT's - 1st new Mopar '85 LeBaron GTS turbo (YAWN) - the SRT makes me glad they remembered how to build good cars after that one

now if only I can find the time to get to the '69 Coronet 500 rag project I have.....
