Ok i finally got the sound sorted LOL....

Camera has recorded and the sound is there. This is the car from the weekend's car show and dyno comp which also took out first place with a lazy 709rwhp - no ice, and very humid.

Top effort IMO and not bad first time out and taking 1st place (if I do say so myself hehehehe). I must also thank Rob and George from Horsepower Factory who came down on Saturday whom without their help and advice, would not have enabled the dyno operators guys to get the car run up and strapped down on the dyno properly. They also got the car prepped and ready for this weekend and the help was greatly appreciated so thanks again guys (HP/F 8-14 Amberley Cres Dandenong VIC 3175 03 9793 1616 - shameless plug but they deserve it :))

Congrats once again. Has your "icebox" intake configuration been explained yet? Maybe I missed it.

Thanks mate. The ice box itself holds that water that cools the discharged air from the blower. Works as follows:

Water is feed from the manifold core directly into the ice box which is stage one of the cooling. From here the water passes through a multi pass front mount heater exchanger to lower temps further after which it is passed back into and through the 6inch manifold intercooler core which the blower air passes through and cooled by. We are looking to increase the cooling capacity even more as the 18psi pulley we tried running with/installed dramatically increased discharge temps over the 15psi pulley and the 760rwhp we ended up with (little to no gain due to higher temps). A larger ice box may be uterlised within the boot and may even look at a refrigerated unit to try and get temps below ambient temperatures. If this is successful we could easily wind the boost up to 22-25 pound which is about the maximum the blower could pass into a 7 litre motor. For the moment though I am happy with how it is, but you never know.....LOL

Thanks mate. Extremmly happy with it so far.

It certainly is and dying to get to the track now. I haven't raced anything in over a year now and desperate to get some passes done.

Certainly is. And we haven't even wound the boost right up yet or even looked at hitting the gas. THAT i can't wait for hehehehe.:mains:

What boost do you think will be your limit? Planning any track time soon? What about your tranny, any mods yet?

I know my car will do over 700/750 with another 100 shot, but I'm afraid of my stock tranny. LOL

We are hoping to eventually see the 22-25psi projected based on the specs of the blower versus the engine size and work done. The block has been prepped (O-Ringed and Steel head gaskets fitted) and whilst another couple of studs to hold the heads down would be nice, there is no reason that the heads should lift at this pressue. Precautions have been taken.

Trans is well sorted and working extremely well. I am currently running a Turbo 400, reverse pattern manual transbrake valve body with a 3400convertor. Probably gone over kill on this part of the build but will handle 2000+hp and torque based on the same trans specs being run in other cars. The tailshaft is also a V8 Australian supercar spec piece.

Picture of the early stage install. Its now running SFI rated flex plate and safety gear.

    Hey guys.

Haven't posted much on any forum for a few weeks so hopefully this will make up for it. :)

Still been adding, fabricating and doing things to the car to have it where I want it and once again its getting there.

Some of the projects undertaken over the last few weeks include:
    • All bushes in the rear end being replaced with Nolathan
    • Front cradle bushes replaced with Nolathan bushes
    • 2nd diff fabricated for drag racing which will see the rear end now incorporate a mini spooled centre and gears
    • Fitted the smaller diameter (5% overdrive) ATI balancer due to not needing the 17% (or is it 13%) overdrive unit I did have fitted. Was originally running blower off OEM drive belt system but was no good due to belt slip. I am now running the blower seperatley on a 10pk belt system and the engine as it does from factory
    • I installed some bling :) believe it or not hehehe. I purchased a Moroso radiator tank and braided line which fits in nicely with the rest of the engine bay.
    • New tune being done next week once the rear end is finished and back together. I have asked them to wind it right up now to see what this setup has left on the table. Currently running 16psi with the blower running at 14,885rpm and engine to 6500rpm. Whipple states that max (safe) held rpm on the 3.4L is rated to 16,000rpm with a peak (short burst) rating @ 18,000rpm. By calculations 22psi (possibly up to 23-24psi) should be achievable. Discharge temps though could be the limitng factor here.

HP/F also have their own show on TV here in Australia called Oz Garage and the latest episode was entirely on the 300C SRT8 and Whipple superchargers. This episode also updated viewers on the progress of my car, buildup, dyno and its first showng at Chryslers on the Murray.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KXD63bE7cc0

The entire episode (and past episodes) can be found here www.channel31.org.au and typing OZ GARAGE in the search box.

    Enjoy.

Thanks mate. Working on getting it to the track the problem is we don't have one in Melbourne at present. Calder Park was closed down 3 months ago and the only thrack we can use is 4+ hours away, is a very poorly prepped track (middle of the bush) and at present you need to book the entire track to get a run.

LOL! Trust me I want nothing more than to get this down the quarter and run some numbers. Car is pretty much wrapped up, now just doing odd bits and pieces (that we found needed doing) to improve the handling and performance of the car. As mentioned above we don't have a track (or a decent one either) close by to use since Calder Park raceway was closed down. Not happy about it I assure you considering the next best thing is in Sydney (I am in Melbourne). I will get it there however its just finding the time for the trip now.
