so please forgive me for my ignorance here...there is a crossfire that i pass going to and from work every day...i only get to see it as we pass each other going different direcitons on the road...it does not look to me like it is a regular crossfire but i cant tell right away if it is an SRT or not... so to my crossfire bro's and sisters...what are some of the features i can look for to determine if what im seeing is a SRT or no...
hahaha...i didnt say i was going to STOP posting and wait for you to catch me haha...im just not going to go out of my way to post tons and tons! not sure...im gonna look up some pics but some hints to spot them when you only have a few seconds would be handy!
dont they all have that popup rear spoiler??? and what rims do they have all i see is the 7 -9 ish spoked rims.
the spoiler i can look for...the rims not so much as its moving pretty quick cause its on a 50 mph road so that means its probably goin about 60 haha... i will keep an eye out for the spoiler the next time i see it... thanks guys!
Rear wrap-around spoiler, 17 spoked, hyper silver rims, (teeny SRT-6 badge under where it says Crossfire) Front lip: (No, mains, that's not the pic you asked for, it's an old shot I'll get you a good one soon, hopefully later today) Hope that helps out!
Its not that easy to distinguish a regular Crossfire from the SRT6 one, me I just look for the SRT badges. I had one 2 months ago trying to play with me from a dead stop light to light and up to 0-100, he did not look to pleased. I dont like spanking my own but hey, sh*t happens.
Thanks Sicks!...im gonna look for the spoiler next time...like i said i only have like 3 seconds to see it...and look for the key features of the SRT haha.. dont see the back...we pass each other while im driving north and they are driving south...the reason im confused is that it has the look of an SRT...but theres some red lettering on the back (i think) that i see in my rear view mirror when it passes that i cant see what it says... in any case...i will take the info from the peeps here...and from the pics sicks gave me and try to identify it... THANKS EVERYONE!
Ha no, it's the fabrication of the bumper--that line that runs vertical there. I had one leg farther back cause I was looking intently at the camera screen and backing up to get a decent angle. It's louder and has the SRT backfiring, but it's really only prominent if it has exhaust or an intake. Mine is pretty loud, compared to how it used to sound.
steve - one problem is, not so much telling the difference, is that you rarely see the srt version running around town!!!!! i have seen just two on the streets of orlando!!!
well theres probably 10-14 SRT-4's runing around my area...and maybe 3 other SRT's in total of all the other SRT's...one being mine...and the other being a viper i always keep an eye out just to see but so far very little luck...
The best and almost only way to spot one is the rear spoiler. There were a few limited's with a special "SE" package that had almost exact copies of the SRT-6 wheels. The front chin spoiler is only for the best trained eye to spot the difference. Even at speed with the limited's pop up rear spoiler it can take a moment to tell the difference. They only pop up at about 62 or so, so anything usually in town makes them easy to tell apart. Of course the other way is to run one from a stop or even a 20-30 mph roll, you'll know right away if it's a limited or the SRT-6.
