    WOW. Never saw that coming...

Pisses me off though. Who do they (Government) think they are to make such a law. Talk about taking rights away...

My parents bought my my first Bike (Honda XL75) for my 12th B-day. I was thankful for that as it taught me early on how to ride.

Oh yea, and I had a BLAST!!!

Wow...can't believe they got that past. I was thinking this was about those mini street bikes, but that it actually applies to the off-road stuff too. And, you can't sell new or used...that just sucks!

I don't think the law was intended to hit motorcycles. After reading it I think the bikes are just falling under the broad guidelines of the law which was intended to limit the exposure of lead to kids. If it forces the industry to remove lead from production then great. Its sad but its just another one of those stupid laws that nobody pays attention to when your out on the trail. Is it going to stop me from getting one for my kids. NO. Ever since my 50 was stolen I've been itching to get another one. Its just another one of those things you have to keep in the back of your head. People will find ways around it if the demand is high enough.

Prohibition never stopped the sale of alcohol it just kept the gov from being able to tax it...

you can buy 50cc quads and off-road bikes, but not from a dealership...you will have to find one used from a private seller. and now, there aren't anymore closed coarse competition for that class because of this law

Get ready off-road 4-wheelers and dune buddy’s are next they damage the environment and do not meet any emission standards. They will go step by step and take away any activity that they (the democrats) deem not healthy for you (your too stupid to make your own decisions) or harmful to the environment. Look this is just the start until the American people stop them this will continue. The real bad news is that most people get their news from 10 second sound bite and if you try to tell them what’s going on they do not grasp what you’re trying to tell them. As an example they actually believe that Wall Street caused the home implosion. If you tell them about the community redevelopment act the get a glazed look in their eyes and say no it was greed on Wall Street.
What most people want is the government to take care of all their needs and the democrats will be happy to do that all you have to give up is EVERTHING!

The bit I read said it it illegal to sell new or used...So technically you could buy one from a private seller, until someone gets arrested or sued for selling one and the news gets a hold of it...then it'll be good luck finding someone willing to sell one.
