-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Got 13 runs in at Sacramento Raceway today during test-n-tune. I got there and ran a [email protected] w/ 2.07 60' (my slowest time). I changed up my tune an little and ran 12.06 consistently while hot-lapping. I ended up running out of gas (practically) and fueled up with some 91 octane (I was running 100 octane to avoid any knock retard) at the local station down the street. I came back, let the car cool down for approximately 30 minutes and ran a [email protected] w/ a 1.85 60'!! I hotlapped and got a 12.05 or something like that and waited about 20 minutes to cool down and ran a 12.07. Maybe the 91 octane gave me some knock retard (I need to check my data logs). Anyways I almost made it. The temperature was about 66 degrees F and it was overcast. Traction was OK but I spun a couple times when I got too aggressive on the launch. My best 60' for the day was 1.80 with M/T 275/40/17s.
Way cool. Just .02 from an 11.99. You should be able to do 1.6X 60's. Should put you in Mao's territory. Congrats
I've been at it with the M/T ET Street drag radials for a few months and can't get better than 1.78 60'. Don't know what I need to do to get that down to 1.6? Any ideas?
Congrats...excellent times!!:mains:............and just shows that higher octane is not always the answer....higher octane gas has less energy (BTUs) per gallon....if the engine is not built for the octane level to overcome the lower energy output you will actually lose power....
If I don't like what I see on the board at the 1/8th mile I can always start chucking stuff out the window on the last half of the run to shed weight Also I need to get to that balloon shop and fill my tires with helium.
Congrats...but does it really, really, REALLY bug you that you came so close to 11's, but didn't get it?:ronlove:
Absolutely. I remember being at the track last year before head/cam and I ran a 13.100 followed by a 13.010 and a 13.001 I swear it is only a couple hundreths but for some reason I tend to end up on the other side of 12.00
