Awesome, thanks for the reply. Its not very clear on that writeup but where exactly do you put the magnets to hold the lifters back? I assume they are sticking up once the rocker arms are removed?
Line up the timing marks, remove the chain, and speed handle the cam around 4 times...the lifters will be held up by the guides...don't need to mess with the magnets.
tell that to the guys that have dropped a lifter inside. put the magnets down the pushrod holes then spin the cam til all the lifters push back. then do not waste any time swaping the cam
So basically the magnets are an extra safety precaution. With my luck I'd be one of the people that has a lifter fall in:dumb:
If it a fairly new engine they stay up pretty well. The only one I've ever had fall was an 80K mile engine and I fished it back up with a magnet. I normally just spin them though.
