Here are some pics from this past Saturday.... Dyno day for the local Viper Club in NC. New Viper ACR w/ headers and CAI put down 582 rwhp! Underground TT Viper put down 980+ RWHP on pump gas....
Is it a normal practice to strap down a car using the rim?? Serious question...I've been to several different dyno days, but that is new to me....Is there really no other way to strap down a viper?? Awesome pics, BTW....and that new viper is freakin HOT!!!
I would be concerned about the wheels being marred....I have seen other pictures of Vipers on the dyno and they were strapped under...
Some are small/thin enough to crawl under, but with the super-low ride height of the new Vipers and the front air splitters (notably on the ACRs), many just strap to the front wheels. Protective pads are used to keep the wheels from getting damaged. If you look close, you can see the protective pad in the pic.
Front splitter of the ACR would be damaged if they strapped from underneath. No damage to the wheels with the protective pad as was stated above. Some really sweet rides, would love to have one....
