So how do you take care of a deep scratch on a black charger? Is there anything to make it not stand out as much or not rust. I was wondering what it would look like to have a pro try and touch it up. Judd
Well Since mine is black I feel for you. What has worked for me is this first you can use touch up then high speed buff it, touch up again and high speed buff it to this until it builds up and your good. Or you can wet sand it I forget the grit but its supper fine you can find it in any auto store just get the finest they have. Lastly you can get black turtle wax and that might do it. Hope I helped?
Thanks for the help. You did help. I am taking it Monday to what I hear is one of the best detailers in STL and see what he has to say.
What Claude said about the touch up paint. You can get the touch up paint from any Dodge/Chrysler dealership's parts department. I do not suggest the color sanding buffing if you do not know what you are doing though. You could/will make matters worse. Good luck.
if you do the touch up paint method, you must leave it to dry for a few days between buffing....... if not, you will just buff all of the paint right out of the scratch!!!
I use it to take care of the front end of the car it does help alot with the rock chips. I get it at Auto Zone. It the only was that I have been able to find in black. It also comes with this chap stick thing that you are to use to fill in the rock chips. I also use it for the scratches at car shows. Man I am giving up all the tricks lol.
