Strengthened SRT8 axles for under $500

    http://lxforums.com/board/showthread.php?t=147693

I just bought these axles and hubs from Moparsupercenter.com (supporting vendor) for $457.71 plus $12 shipping. They will fit a SRT8 rear end and are beefed up per the thread which includes pictures of stockers and replacements for comparison. Unknown how much more HP/TQ these can handle but you can't beat the price.

Well the link goes straight to the Search feature. Now, I would be very cautious on those as it is NOT just the splines that need to be upgraded. The actual shafts AND CV cages need upgrading as well.

Of course I am saying this without seeing the product... lol

They are the ones from the new chally right? Adam (1fastsedan) and I were talking about them a bit. There is no way to know the hp rating on them since they are meant for the prod chally but since dodge knew about the issue with them before I can only hope they beefed them up a bit. IMHO i would bet they hold 500 or so at the wheels or so but I would still go with the big dogs if your going for more. Myself I just ordered the DSS 1000hp ones finally cause I would rather do it once and not risk any issues :)

I'll let you guys know. I just ordered a set of the 09 axles. Once I get some drag radials, my goal will be to see how long they last. :)

If they break, it was a $400 gamble/experiment and I'll get the DSS ones. Plus, I'll have my stockers to drive home on now if I break an 09 at the track.

I hope no one thinks that these are direct halfshaft only replacements. You need the hubs also.

True. I got the hubs too. Now I'm looking for some reasonably priced wheel studs.

    Yes, Dad.

I'm looking for wheel studs so that I can have my 06 hubs and axles ready as a unit to put them in if needed. Make sense?

I'm not sure, but I just saw a picture of the new hubs and it had studs in it. Could be the guy installed them already, but I'll ask. Sure would be cool if they came loaded.

Wow, good timing. How did you break your axle? I want details. I've been running the M/T 275/40/17s at the track and have good luck so far (probably about 40 runs on them with 60' times ranging from 1.78-1.9)
