Well....everyone knows the economy is bad. Its no secret. Well, it finally hit home for me. My wife had a contractor job for the US Navy. paid good. She quit her job to come to Ventura with me, however, she already had a contract for another contractor job at the Camarillo airport. She was going to be making the same amount as before. Here is where fate steps in. I got the Charger because I could afford it with my wife having a good job. Now, the tides have turned, and her contract stalled because of funding issues...so she is technically un-employed. Because of that, the bank that was going to finance the car for me has canceled, and the dealer has rescinded their contract. So, tomorrow, after having and enjoying my SRT-8 for three weeks, I have to take her back. Being an optimist, the good side is I get my Neon and my down-payment back, with no marks against my credit. The bad side is I lose the SRT-8....For now. As soon as the contract for my wife's job gets the funding, I'll be back into an SRT-8 before you know it... Anyways...I am extremely bummed right now.....
Well that SUCKS Jeff. I know how much you wanted that whip. In hind site, it is a good thing this happened before funding, rather than after. Hang in there buddy, you will get the SRT8 back in no time.
True....If her contract stalled after the fact, money would have been tight and I would not have the opportunity to return the car. Could I afford it with just my paycheck?? Yes, I could...But money would be really really tight and I don't want to do that to my wife or son, so I didn't take the financing guy up on his offer to work something else out. It will be like nothing ever happened.
damn how many miles you rack up on the 8? i cant see the dealer being too happy about this one....let alone you for having to return it.
Downside, no 8, upside no repo-man and you already have one SRT. Given the economy and my situation I'm happy I got my 8 paid for before I quit work for school and had the baby and my portfolio tanked. Now its just a matter of how to pay off the student loan after I finish school. Guess I'll have the fastest "commute car" at work again. Anyway...here's to things turning around and with any luck, you'll get another one for way cheaper.
Bummer...at least you get your 4 back. Could have been worse, had all that happened and they had already got rid of the 4.
Sorry to hear that, and I can really understand your pain! AFTER I got my SRT, my heart surgeon said I can no longer work... finally got disability and am struggling to pay for mine. It's an 06, got it in Oct 07 and only has 4280 mi.! In fact waiting for VA Hospital in Ashville NC to set up my six heart operation!
I would say there is nothing to be bummed about .. you got off with a insane deal that only has many benefits for you. No mark on your credit and now isnt the time to make things really really tight for yourself. Like Obama said yesterday, things can get dramatically worse .. I believe that. Count your blessings, enjoy the 4
Sorry to hear this...but it is better you are able to put everything back...would have been bad 6 months from now and you couldnt make the payments...
I'd say that worked out pretty well, The 8 will be there , And you dont have an insanely stressful situation to deal with if you got stuck with the car.
At lest you got to drive a 8 around for almost amonth wtih no charge. Dont worry man you will have one soon!
Well...Fate has once again taken a backseat!! I took the 8 back to the dealership. After I turned over the keys, and got the keys to the neon back, and the credit manager was talking to me, all about putting the neon up for sale private party and such, he mentioned having 'two open auto accounts'. Thats where my red flag shot up.....I owned the neon outright. I only have one open auto...my wifes truck. So, we went inside and did a little digging. Turns out, a car my wife bought over eight yers ago was still popping up on her credit history....only six years overdue. So, after a little fanagaling, the guy lowered the total price of the car another 2900 bucks, and the first payment date got pushed back a month. So, in the end, I get to keep the car!!!!!
Dude...I was almost in tears....but it worked out. Hell... drove it for free for three weeks, AND got a better deal in the end!!!
haha Awesome. That is sort of what happened with Maureen's truck. haha They kept messing up the paper work or forgetting to turn the paper work into the bank... 4 months later, no payments, and a better deal later...
