I am getting ready to head out to PBIR/Moroso for test and tune day, plus our Mopar Challenge bracket racing series. Thanks to Diablo, I have 3 tunes to test with various amounts of timing in them, so we'll see how she does on the 1/4 mile. My previous best time was 13.117 in about 10* cooler weather, and I am sure hoping my stock tires have enough left in them for some more good passes! That line lock sure is fun, ha ha!

I drove quite a bit last night on the mid-level tune, and can definitely notice the new power and shift improvements. The car pulls really hard at 4,000 rpm and above. That is always where my maximum power was, and now it pulls ever harder ... definitely noticeable!! In the highway and city driving I did last night, the car shifted nicely, not super hard, but firmer and definitely quicker. The lag I had before when I'd punch the gas, and then wait for the car to downshift and take off is vastly improved. Overall, this is a real great tune, and I'll let you know how all 3 of them do today at the track!

    Lisa.

She is probably still out celebrating so you'll have to wait. But I drive a SRT and was checking out her rear end today. :woot:

    Sorry Kris

    Why is that?

My self and several other LXers witnessed an SRT8 Challenger do consistent 12.9's at Orlando SpeedWorld. And it was bone stock.

Even hot lapping the slowest time the Challenger made was a 12.999@109.

Ha ha, thanks Tony. :) The new 5.7 engine is awesome and the couple of mods we have done seem to be the right combination.

I broke into the 12's against Scott to qualify in the challenger, and then broke out in the 2nd round against Tony ... 12.873 as you see. (Thanks for the scan, so I don't have to do it now, lol). The corrected time was 12.765 so I could get a bit better time slip if the weather was better!!

5.7L w/ only the following mods: Techo CAI, MBRP Cat-back, 85mm TB, Diablo Predator (test tunes) ... I also have Razor's Edge front and rear braces.

    R/T FTW!!!

All I will say on the SRT vs R/T Challenger talk is....

30k car with mods that runs a 12.87 OR a 42k car BEFORE mods that runs 12.8-12.9 hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

This new 5.7L engine with the VVT is killer!

The R/T numbers are awesome, and I think BMC has done a fantastic job, however, there is MUCH more to an SRT model for the 10K+ price tag.

I am sure there is..BUT for a car that you want to drag race, when the cheaper car runs as fast or faster then the top of the line, why spend the extra money?

Take 12k off the price and still run the same in the quarter? Thats impressive if you ask me!

Nothing wrong with SRTs, but for drag racing (until they update the 6.1 like they did the 5.7) the R/T is where its at :D

lol If it were for Drag Racing only, then you should buy the Challenger Drag pak for 31K.
