I caught this documentary on HBO and thought I'd pass it along to my friends here. Here's the promo for the movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhwE4wT08JM (nothing like a gigantic media giant typo'ing a movie title...heh heh) It's the insanely depressing story of the town of Anderson, IN, and the residents who- with literally just the shirts on their backs- still find a way to race every weekend. It made me appreciate all that I have and to be grateful for such things. The documentary also showed me what lies in the heart of real racing fans. It's on HBO all this month. If you have VOD, it's on there too. If you like cars, racing, and flat-out sheer determination, you'll like it.
Yea, I saw the advertising on HBO. This will be a MUST watch. Thanks for the info Kevan. Sad about the town though.
I have seen it myself, very sad to see this part of America that once flourished is now almost a barren wasteland. No jobs nothing it is very sad to watch. On a side note its funny watching these guys just wanna chew the competitions faces off before during and after the racing. I was gonna use the word HICK above but did not want to offend anyone
