I talked with a gentleman named Steve Schiff today. He was interested in becoming an endorsee/player of my invention.

I recognized the name from DEEP in the mental HDD, but couldn't quite place it. I did a quick Google and then it hit me:
HE'S THE GUY WHAT WROTE "Don't You (Forget About Me)"!!!!

He (and uber-producer Keith Forsey) wrote all of the songs for the movie "The Breakfast Club"!
If you don't know the song or the movie, then you are probably dead or were born in the last two years. Go check it out and understand why it's been covered by so many people.

Anyway, Mr. Schiff and I had a very nice chat and we're going to get him hooked up with a couple of units right after the holidays.

So, after all my obscurity and posting of the shred-fu elite, I can finally put up someone that you can all easily identify with! :D

OK, sounds like congratulations are in order. I have heard the song a million times and saw the movie a handful of times, so I am doing alright there (well, at least I can fog a mirror and/or am out of training diapers). But, somewhere I must have missed out on what he will be endorsing or playing.

It's not that thing in the Tic Tac box is it?

    Heh heh...nah.
My first invention is a little more popular than a signal gate for a mercury switch. LOL

That's a pretty cool device and more refined looking than the signal gate. Wish I could play. I tried to learn (as an adult) but it was like the hardest thing I ever encountered in my life, just couldn't get it. I envy guitar players. It is by far my favorite thing to listen to. I could listen to a good guitarist all day long. You play Kevan?

To quote Rick Nielsen, "I'm not the best guitar player in the world, but I'm also not the worst." LOL
Here's a quick vid of me playing with a few of my good friends (Shelby Wiliford, Tony Smotherman & Trey Alexander) at Jemfest 2006:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XgHAmbV1K6s
Shelby is playing my RG-ARCH; Tony with my RG-ART (my #1 guitar), and Trey with his own JEM7VWH. I was working on my friends swirl guitar earlier and was checking out the setup I did, so that's the guitar I'm playing in the vid. :)

Trey's part got cut a little short, so here's a better clip from him (shortly after he played at Jemfest; we found him first! heh heh):

Skills beyond most, and he's an incredibly nice guy as well.
I'm lucky to call him one of my friends.

Guitar is the easiest instrument to learn to play, but the most difficult to master. :)

If you still want to learn, there's a great site: www.wholenote.com
Lessons up there from first-day player all the way up to uber-shred master.
They have a cool 'jam trax' thing there too.

If you want more help, let me know and I'll get you steered in the right direction.
    Thanks for the compliments!

Heh heh....at Jemfest we have some of the most incredible guitar talent on the planet, so it's a little intimidating during the hotel room jams to just hop in. :)

Plus, those guys are more used to seeing me either work on the gear, or running around setting up the event. It's rare that I get some play time during Jemfest.
