For all that do not know, the Marine Corps emblem is and eagle, globe and an anchor. Also know as the EGA. The reason I bring this up is because I am starting a personal training business and want to use the EGA as part of my logo. The name of the bis will be EGA Fitness. I will be using the EGA as my logo and want to have the eagle holding a dumbbell in its mouth and or make him all swoled up. LOL

My question is, what are the thoughts on the name itself. At first I was thinking of Ex-Marine Fitness, but thought that may be a little to course out here in the burbs.

Also, can I use the EGA without having any copyright issues ?

Thanks for any and all input,

    Bryan

I do not think there will be any copyright issues as EGA is an acronym used by the Military. To my knowledge, Acronym's are not copyrightable? I would be more cautious with the actual logo/icon as I am sure that the Marines have that copyright?

As for the name, I like the idea, but how many people in your area will NOT understand the acronym? Would it cause confusion in people coming to check out the business? Maybe a local survey is warranted?

    Good luck.
