Ok, can't seem to get a solid answer for this...so maybe you guys can help me. Had an ACT 6-puck sprung clutch kit installed about 1700 miles ago. Along with new release fork and release bearing. After the break-in, took it the track, no issues at all. Haven't had any really big issues. It grabs, it works, and couldn't be happier. Was beginning to chatter pretty loud, but talked to the guy who installed it and said not to worry about it...so I was like ok. But then it started to squeak on and off. Well, I brought the car back (main reason because it was leaking tranny fluid, happen to find out the axle seals were leaking), told him about the squeak. A few day later, got the car back, squeak was still there, said it'll make noise...I just drove off happy to get the car back again. Back to the track...no issues. Clutch itself is not giving me any problem. I drive the car every day, and no issues. So now the chatter is pretty much gone, once in awhile I can hear it. But this squeak is really annoying, and no one can seem to really tell me what it is. If I keep pushing in the pedal and releasing quickly it'll quiet down. But it only squeaks when the pedal is out and I'm just idling. Any info would be greatly appreciated...again please read, clutch is ok, shifting is ok, having no issues with driveability...just this crazy noise. Juan
my self and 505streetracer have ACT street clutches and no problems with grip, but we do have chatter, its not bad but you can hear it. from what ive been told the chatter is from the light weight flywheel. as for the squeek i have no idea.
someone just said it may be the springs on the clutch...the chatter i can understand...it's not as loud as it used to be anymore
only when i have i'm off the pedal during idle. once i press the pedal in, it goes away, or when i give throttle noise goes away (doesn't get any louder)
idk lol...it'll squeak, i'll push in the clutch pedal quick and release, it may squeak or not, if i do it again, it'll chatter and no squeak, if i try again, it'll do both, sometimes it won't do anything.
