Just got my GRIP Front Fascia delivered to my apartment tonight. Now I have to find a shop to get it painted.
You will have to make a couple of small straps or some other method of attaching the Grip front fascia to the plastic skid pan underneath. The Grip front end desn't extend far enough back to reattach to the skid pan like the stock front end did and if you don't do anything you will end turning your skid pan into an air-shovel and at higher speeds I think you could rip it off... Congrats on the Grip front...I'll have to come down and check it out!
I noticed that so a couple months ago I saw this and I'll probably be using this. http://www.aprperformance.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=76&Itemid=49
Cool find but how do you know it will fit the Charger? The Grip fascia sits 2" lower than the stock fascia and will not line up evenly with the stock belly pan. I just removed the stock belly pan when I installed my Grip fascia. Another issue you will run into is that Grip does not make room on the sides of the fascia to mount your TPM (tire pressure sensors) sensors. On the stock fascia, you can see the recessed area that the TPM sensor mounts to. On the Grip fascia you can see there are no holes or recessed area to mount the TPM sensor. I took some 3M tape and stuck it to one side of the TPM sensor and then stuck it to the plastic fender liner. Your TPM's still work and I have had them stuck to the liner for over a year. They have not fallen off. This is the stock TPM sensor and bracket that mounts to your stock fascia. unscrew the TPM sensor from the bracket. Then install some 3M tape to the TPM sensor and stick it to the plastic fender liner. Welcome to the Grip Tuning club. You will love the way your front fascia looks on the Charger. I get compliments on the front fascia all the time.
Very nice! I truly like that fascia! When it mounted and painted post some pics, I'd like to see how it turned out. Congrats!
FreeB, Thanks for this post. I have had an intermittent "Check TPM System" EVIC warning since I hit a deer/installed Grip front fascia. I replaced the LF sensor in what I thought was the stock location trying to troubleshoot this problem. It now looks like the body shop made their own locations when they installed the Grip front for the RF and LF sensors and they are much further away from the wheels than where your pics show. I never actually knew where they were originally located. I bet they are simply too far away to work 100% of the time.
It sounds like they are too far away from the tire. I stuck mine onto the wheel well liner roughly in the same spot as if the TPM sensor was mounted to the stock fascia. They have worked fine for me and no TPM bell going off in the car. Looking good, now get that fascia off to paint.
