.........at Beech Bend in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Passenger side. It let loose right after the 60 foot clocks. There was plenty of rubber on the starting line and they had just sprayed the moose juice. It felt like a great leave and a couple people told me it looked like I was on good run until it let go. I didn't get a time slip (to look at the 60ft time) because the tow truck driver didn't stop as we went by the booth. When I got back to the pits I called the local Dodge dealership and told them I'm having the car brought over. I called Chrysler Roadside Assistance and they towed it for free. I then realize that I'm 3 hours from home with no ride. "DONE" to the rescue! He loaded up all my rims/tires, tools, etc. in his Magnum and drove me all the way home to Cincinnati. That's a long way from his Nashville home. Thanks Don! You saved the day. It's 6pm on Monday and the service manager just called. He was laughing so hard he could hardly talk. He said........We know how you broke it! He said that's OK, we are going to cover it under warranty anyway. Then he asked me......you know how you broke it don't you? I said Maybe. He started laughing again. He said they have never heard of a 1/2 shaft breaking. Oh well.
Very nice of the dealer to repair under warranty. Especially one that is 3 hours away. lol Oh yea, welcome to the elite "Broken 1/2 Shaft" club. haha And a HUGE hats off to Don.
Hate to hear that Mike. Looks like everything worked out as best as it possibly could considering how far away from home you were. I was hoping that you ran with Eric over the weekend, I wanted to see a new PB for you. Are you putting a stock shaft back on it? See if you can get the broken one so that you will have at least one extra tone ring (if it didn't get damaged too).
Sorry this happened to ya but you knew it was coming...:bang:......glad it worked out though with the warranty......and that was beyond the call of duty on Don's part...definitely must be some guy....of course he does come from TN..
wow..... that dealer sounds as cool as mine!!! i guess i will probably end up in this club when i get my d/r' from scott next month!!!! ummmm, yes ron, i have been racing quite a bit lately!!!! weds nights at orlando speedworld baby!!!! lol
Sorry to hear about your misfortune. How'd that go over with the wife?? Dahahahaha!! Atleast I was able to see it in action.. maybe you should have taken your own advice and hung it up for the year after KilKare!! Atleast your dealer is taking care of you, its hard to beat RDP's shafts though.
She was mad that I broke her car. But I found out she likes bad boys so everything turned out OK. ;o)
Sounds like you gotta a good dealer there...and that was awesome that Don came through for you like that. :thumb:
