Welcome to the "C"...that's a cool looking neon you got there.

I heard from one of the SRT techs at the SRT Nationals/ here in ATL this summer. Part of the reason why the nostrils were added is because the original test cars were overheating on the track. Due to the placement of the intercoolers, there wasn't enough airflow getting in to cool the engine, so the nostrils were their answer to that problem.

    ok, wikipedia verifies your desc:

Of note aesthetically, when Dodge was redesigning the SRT-4 pre-production car in late 2002 prior to its release, they added two vents (Nostrils) on the front fascia to help with the upgraded cooling system, a revised boost gauge face, and standard pedals instead of the aluminum ones that would be used on later SRT-4s.

hmm.. maybe that is one of the reasons I run hot sometimes - or it could be the bouncing off the rev-limiter in 110 degreee heat

    it could be both.

I know when im on the track pushing corners my cars temps are upwards of 220, and in the summer ive seen them as high as 235 and i have my winshield washer sprayers spraying on to my radiator which i use about 1/2 gal every 15min or every 10 laps and it helps keep it around 215-220
and thats with a Koyo Rad too.

    normal drivings at 190
