    Hey Fellas...

Been a member here since the opening, although I only have a few posts.

Finally decided to up the ante and strap a big turbo. All supporting mods are complete other then the walbro 255 and injectors which I have. Only thing i am in need of is a clutch.

Car has been a daily since i purchased it new in 05 with 2 miles. Not really a daily anymore since i got a Tahoe. I now have 99,6XXX on the clock, perfect running order. Best time with so far on slicks has been 12.8 @106. 1.8 short time.

So the mod list is as follows.

    Turbonetics standard bearing 50trim
    Ceramic coated turbine housing
Nickle somthing or other o2 housing from AGP
    AGP new style Log manifold
AGP SCT flash with 6800rpm limiter on conservitive tune.
    AGP direct fit
    AGP dogbones
    AGP 3inch intake
AGP coldside pipe with screw in sensor w/ Tial 50mm BOV
Modern performance 3inch D-pipe with cat to mopar cat back
    RC 750's
    Aeroforce dual set scan guages
    AEM wideband
    Stock fuel rail
    No return line

Pretty buch brought everything from previous owner. He never ran the car. Went neck to neck with a Stage 3 neon with cams and a bunch of other bolt ons.

At 21lbs with 93 Pump piss AFR's were at 10.9 (conservative). He never ran it, so he doesnt know what race fuel and 24lbs will do

Spoke to someone that has basicly the same setup I have, and he went 11.3 @ i dont know with i think 24lbs with race fuel. only diffrence which is big is a fuel controller and returnline coupled to the flash from SCT.

Havent done a compression and leakdown test yet, but it will be done soon.

    Any suggestions?

Any guesstamates on 1/4 times and MPH?

Im hoping for 11.50's-11.90's at atleast 117-120mph traps.

Here is the car in all of its 100k Glory:

    first very sexy car.
Second, I would wait for the leakdown test before guestimating. If the motor is good 11s at your altitude should be very possible. Just remember with a stock bottomed neon you may have more room than most other makes to make monster power, but you still have to put yourself in check. Not only cause it is a stock bottom but because it is high milage.

Welcome back SuperMario! we have missed ya

You sure can consider it a build. I also received your PM, and will be replying to your shortly. Thanks :D

Thanks for the kudo's on the sled. I come from a long line of fast cars. Mom= 04 c5 vette convertable Cat back exhaust and LS1 edit flash .. Brother= 02 Mustang GT vert 3:73's Xpipe with cats, SLP Cat back, Pullys, intake... Cams come next =). Me= the obvious although once all is said and done, turbo buick will be in my sites :censored: Uncle= Fully restored second over 70 Nova SS 396BB Munci 4 on the floor, factory rear. Numbers Match everything. has build sheet and original Window sticker. I have stories about this car.

Thanks! Not so much guestimating, but per the care that i have given the car, I dont think there is going to be a problem. Literally 95% of the miles are highway, this is why I was able to lauch at 5k with the factory clutch @ 88k on the clock =). brakes lasted 80k!

Im not going to push the envelope more then nessasary. If I make an 11 second pass, I will be happy whether its a 11.90 or an 11.50. 11.50's would be better, but oh well. This may also contradict the previous sentance, but since I have 6800 RPM;s to play with, I may do mild cams to get a bit more top end out of that extra 800rpm. For engine saftey reasons and peace of mind, I may go the DCR Oil kit to freshen up the oil flow a bit since the miles.

My only major concern is the clutch since its a bitch to do. its a toss up between the ACT sprung 6 puck, or the south bend stage 3. A buddy of mine just made a 11.4 pass on a SB clutch. Stock block and head, AEM EMS, S256, Meth, yadda yadda. It held up and didnt slip!

the SB clutches had a lot of problems in the beginning but i'm pretty sure they are all ironed out now. my friend has one in a fairly high HP 300zx and its held up well for about 20k now.

I went with the ACT full faced disc and the 2600lb pressure plate, its holding a built motor and a 3147 like a champ. the pucked clutches would seriously piss me off if i had to drive one everyday but if its no longer your daily it should be ok.

For your oil needs, you can also check out another one of our Vendors in CMW. They actually manufactur their own lubricants. Good stuff, I run their oil in my car.

    Thx!

I have heard that the "newer" south bend stage 3 is better. My buddys run kinda showed it as well.

Its still being driven back and forth to the train station everyday which is 5 miles till the tahoe is done. Im not worried about it in the long run, its not going to be on the road everyday.

    Will do

    Will do x2

Thanks man... read about your build earlier. Good luck with it as well.

I had the chance to drive a crane 18 camed Stage 3 neon. N2MB toybox (boost per gear) and wot box as well. One hell of a nice ride, and stupid quick with no tirespin. I have only driven big turbo neons, so i wasnt used to that flat out powerban all the way up.

The only major change that should be made to insure the engine can handle the extra beatting would be to upgrade the oil system. The stock oil pumps on these cars are like a grenade with the pin pulled you dont know when its going to blow.

    Thanks, Nubs @ DCR

I would go with a ACT Street disk....Way to many issues with the SBC. DCR also offers a oil kit. A stock bottom end is only gonna last so long on higher HP levels no matter how well the car is babied. You could also run about 24lbs on pump with a meth kit.
