My problem is a pop or snapping sound right over my head when going across uneven ground. (driveways/speed bumps etc) It's done it since I've had the car and it's getting more and more frequent. I believe if you cut a hole in the middle of the roof, you better be willing to deal with :censored: noises so I'm not in a hurry to have the dealer removing my headliner multiple times unless I'm sure there is a problem in there that can be fixed. Thoughts?
A number of people have had "creaks" and squeaks from the sunroof that were fixed with tightening some hardware or adjustment. I think the worst outcome was someone had grease marks left on their headliner... Due to that I think it might be worth the risk.
Yes, this is a very common problem that develops with our platform. There was a TSB issued on the earlier models, I don't know of any for the 2007s. Your dealer will be VERY familiar with this problem though. :bigwink:
You know Ryan... if you push the button... the thing actually opens! Jason told me about your "modified" pick-up with the cut off roof.
Hahaha. Pickups with the roof cut off.... I've got an '06 with no problem either. I also don't use the sun roof. Actually, the kids forced me to open it a couple of times. I just could not find a car without a sunroof when I was buying. I did locate one in the state but the dealer had sent it out the week before to have one installed.
ralph - i had the EXACT same issue!!!! was not the tsb issue but rather two things.... 1 - passenger side track / slide bushing cracked: the sound was ever so slight, but it sounded like it was right over my head / just behind it. i found it by doing a lot of minor tapping on the sunroof, with it open, to islolate it. 2 - believe it or not, the sunroof is held in place in spots by sticky back velcro. when the adhesive would loosen, i would get this sound as if you were pushing on a piece of tape that did not want to stay stuck. annoying as hell, but the dealer fixed it no problem!!!
Thanks! I'll check it out. I don't actual open it much and when I do it's usually at night when I'm not going to try and monkey with it isolating a noise. Like you said, I looked at the TSB but it didn't really seem to fit the my issue. Velcro! not suprised, I was expecting blue silicone. :bottom: I'll probably talk to MOL about this further since it would be going into Rancho to get fixed anyway. And on the way home tonight I noticed my passenger window doesn't "auto" up anymore (does auto down).. it is supposed to right?
