I recently purchased a 2008 Magnum SRT8 with all the options available except the DVD player and roof racks. Option packages 1, 2, & 3 were included however there was no Roll-up Cargo cover included as there was with my 2005 R/T. I was told that this was no longer included and that they weren't even sure they could order this separately. I find it hard to believe that they would cheap out on this and not give you the means to cover your belongings in the back and have to leave them exposed to anyone wanting to do a smash and grab. Is my dealer telling me the truth or just to lazy to supply me with what should be included with the car? I can't find it mentioned anywhere in the options by name but thought it would be included with service pack 1 as part of the cargo dress-up package. The brackets for it are still there.

Ummm, that's a yes/no type of question... that translates to "I'm really to busy being lazy to have to actually look for a part number. If you'd like to buy a whole car I might get off my azz after I finish my lunch break".

Call another dealer or check with Ted at Mopar Supercenter (vendor here).

Yea that's my first impression also Quick, that's why I thought I'd just float this question out there to see if the same thing applied to anyone else that had purchased a 2008 SRT Magnum. There have been so few sold in this part of the country that no one seems to know for sure or care for that matter, since they are now discontinued.

Well Dodge has started to stop giving the ChargerSRT's the stock hood liner and some under hood parts. Maybe Dodge decided not to give the 08 Mags the rear slider cover, esp. since they knew they were stopping production of the wagon in March of 08.

I would think you should have had one as I believe it was standard equipt if not part of one of those option packages BUT ... like Freebird said I've seen Chry cut back on all kinds of stuff and being as the Mag got dropped and everyone knew it was coming and they built so few 08s I could easliy see them not putting one in.

If you want one do like Quick said, try another dealer or Mopar Supercenter. Good luck!

Thanks for the input on this everyone, it seems that the general concensus is that I don't get one included with it. Oh well, at least I kept the one that was from my RT.

I didn't get one with my '08 Magnum. How did you get the production #? I've heard there were very few S'08 RT Magnums produced but have't seen any official numbers.

Glass tint is so deep it's pretty well impossible to see what's in the back anyway...the only reason I close mine is that it actually seems to make the car quieter (less road noise from the rear tire wells).

The # is stamped by the hood latch on the underside of the hood on the SRT8 not sure about the RT.

I agree with the noise reduction but whenthe interior light is on everything is pretty visible.

Is that right, is that where you can find the production #?? I would love to know mine. Is it a special sticker or something??

I see a hand written 265 scratched by the hood latch so this must be my number. Thanks for pointing it out.

I too have really dark tint and not worried about others seeing what I have in back. I am the same as you. I keep my roll cover closed as it does indeed make the interior of the car quieter, esp. after I went with the JBA catback on my Mag.

If you really want to hear how loud the interior of your magnum gets. Take the roll up cover out and fold down the rear seats and go for a drive. Then fold the seats back up and install the rear roll up cover and then go for another drive. Really amazing how much more quieter the Magnum is with road noise when the rear seats are folded up and the rear roll up cover is closed.

About 2 years ago there was this huge thread (for Chargers) about the number painted on the hood. It did not line up perfectly with the "made-on" date. For example there were cases where the made-on date was later but the hood number was earlier? I don't remember exactly what the deal was since it was 2 years ago and on the OC. Ron was involved in that since he has a Charger, maybe he'll remember.

I looked at my hood, there's nothing there. Was this only a Charger thing and not a Maggie one??

I think it might have been a Charger thing only.
