The Detonator Yellow Super Bee was the original car I wanted ever since I started shopping for Chargers. In April or May of '07 I couldnt find a single one and soon realized that the SRT-8's were a little out of my price range, so I opted for an 07 Sublime Daytona. As luck would have it I was driving by Planet Dodge(12st. in Miami) Saturday and saw a used 07 SuperBee sitting out front..so I immediately busted a U-ey to go have a look. After some haggling and a day of demodding I traded in my 12K mile Sublime Daytona for a 10K mile SuperBee #680 Sunday morning. It doesnt have many options which is a bummer since my Daytona was loaded but it is such a killer ride. While it seemed faster showroom stock it didnt blow me away. I immediately came home and installed my AFE stage II and 93CAI Predator tune....WHOA!! NO CONTEST AT ALL!! My very first 0-60 was 4.7 with some wheel spin and bog taking off. Tonight I had a best of 3.62 in real cool air but I dont think its acurate. others were 3.82, 4.41 and 4.62. The car was registered in Maryland so if anyone knows the previous owner let me know Id like to get some info. Shane
Thanks Everyone. One thing I need some help on is that previous owner lived in MD where they require front plates and in FL we dont. I think the front plate takes away from the look and now I have 4 rather large holes in the bumper and need to find a remedy. Thanks Shane
Congrats! and Welcome. Having had that Daytona already you're going to fully enjoy that Bee right off the bat. It's going to be everything you imagined. If it doesn't have a cat back already my personal recommendation (everyone is different) is the Mopar/Corsa. The sound and note is simply outstanding with never a hint of drone. I think a 4.3 0-60 is killer. If you're doing better than that you've got a real gem there. Search for threads by FreebirdSRT if you want to see what can be done with a Bee when you go really nuts. You're going to like it here.
:welcome: to the C! :bye: Be sure and check out the SRT-8 LX forum. I'm one of the moderators there.
Can be made to work but most 6.1 catbacks are 2 3/4" - 3".....5.7s usually 2.5".............I would just keep the stock 6.1 exhaust as to put a 5.7 catback on...
cut out the mufflers and replace the suitcase under your srt. it will make it sound a lot better. pipes are diff though. welcome to the big C! congrats on your purchase. here is a site for plugs that will cover up those hole nicely. http://www.bumperplugs.com/BPindex.html
Oh man thanks a bunch! I think the Dodge Solar Yellow will match just fine. Again thanks for all the responses, Shane
Sorry about the first reply to Darkne55. We had to impliment Spamware due to a FLOOD of spammers a couple weeks ago, so now it takes 10 posts before links will show with out being approved. Since you Quoted Steve, and Steve had a link, your first post was invisible to everyone but the staff. I have approved it now. lol The 5.7 exhaust will fit, but really would take away from the performance as it is a smaller diameter exhaust.
Not a problem Ron I just deleted it. Its weird that flowmaster doesnt make a catback for the SRT-8, well none that Ive found so far. Shane
Welcome to the SRTC Shane and the 2007 Charger SRT Super Bee (Detonator Yellow...) I didn't want to spend a lot of $ on a full cat back exhaust, since my Bee is mostly a garage queen. But I still wanted a good V8 rumble that was not stock. So I added a set of Flowmaster mufflers and added the blastin bob resonator delete pipes in back. My #993 2007 DY SuperBee.
FreeBird has got it right....I got flowmaster super 44's and just welded in some 3" pipe to replace the resonators....sounds greeeeeeeeat Welcome :bye:
