The last time I was at the track I was interested to see what a Cadillac XLR-V and two different Shelby GT500s would run - they wre both manuals.

The Cadillac came out of the hole really weak: 14.5@99 lol

Both of the Shelbys bogged their launchs badly, one guy almost killed it, they both ran low 14s at about 105...double lol!!!

And this was in great air :)

The time tells you how good they drove. The MPG tells you there HP. Those guys are down compared to the SRT-8's.

Truth is, for some reason our cars REALLY respond to cool air and cool engine temps.

XLR-V was an auto, but I'm pretty sure both Shelbys were manuals.

haven't ran a XLR at the track, but most of the stock GT500s are in the 13-14 sec range , especially on stock tires. The best all time stock gt500 et was by MM&FF driver Evan Smith at 12.2 (it was one run at the ET, the rest were higher 12's, thats with a pro driver), so all those gt500 owners belive they can go that fast stock too. Alot of the owners of the GT500s around here mod the crap outta them before the temp tags are even off due to knowing the slow times they'll run stock and don't want to be embarrassed. $50-60K for a 13 sec car is nutty imo.

I see the same with the Shelbys around here..last time I went to the track a 2008 GT500 ran a 15.X.........of course that is driver problem...but even the worse driven SRT8s I have seen around here stay in the 14s...

I noticed the same thing when I was last at the track. I was a little disappointed with my times but then I started watching other cars and I changed my mind. A last gen CTS-v and a last gen M3 both couldn't break 100 mph (ran mid 14s). I felt much better bout my mid-13 sec run after watching that, lol!

I've been hunting for shelbys at our local track but have not had the luck to see one... I take my camera to the track every week just in case...
