I went to Muncie Indiana after work Wednesday night becaue we had great air for the Midwest, elevation 900, but the DA was -450!!!!!!! I just did Magnaflow HF cats and put on a Corsa, and redid my tune, so I was hoping to beat my intake/tune best of 12.6@113. Lots of breakdowns/spills which makes the night frustrating, I think that prevented the track from getting good until the end of the night when I got my runs in. Finally at 8:30 I get in my first run. Spun really bad out of the hole and had to get off the throttle and back on it, but when I did the car took off! I am car 232. That's a new all time best trap speed for me , but a terrible 60 foot, and 1/8 mile time and mph. The next run after an hour because of cleanups, I took off great, but broke the tires lose on the 1-2 shift and couldn't recover enough to make the run worthwhile so I aborted it. Third run, at 9:52 pm...decent launch and stayed with it: So I turned around and went again at 9:59 and got this: At this point it was 10pm and I knew they wouldnt stay open much longer, so I decided to get in as many as I could, and I definitely need to hit the launch harder. By now my coolant is at 186 with the 25 cent fan mod keeping it stable, but my intake was only warm to the touch and holding that temp with the 42 degree ambient air. So at 10:08 I went: Much better 60 foot! Then at 10:16 I went: New pb 1/8 and 1/4 e.t.!!! Then at 10:20 I went: Then they closed. I was hoping to be bragging about a 12.4x instead of posting these times but it wasn't in the cards. I won't see much better air and Muncie is probably the best track I've been on around here for traction, but it's 2.5 hours from home. The only thing different tonight from the past times was that I did not use racing gas, just had 1/4 tank of Sunoco 94 octane. Am I being unreasonable in hoping for a little better? What have you guys put up for e.t.s on street tires with just a intake/exhaust/tune? I am happy about hitting 90 mph in the 1/8 mile five times in a row(!) though. But it seems like when I come out of the hole that hard, then I'm running out of steam a little on the top end. Those 112.5s seem about a full mph below what I was expecting. I leave my serpentine belt on and only take out the SRT8 trunk carpet/hard liner and spare tire foam insert. I have TOYO 255s, up the front air to 45 and drop the rears to 27. ESP full off on the dash and leave it in autostick and let it shift itself. My car weighs 4150 with a half tank - without me in it. Any thoughts or tips are appreciated Eric Oh - and Mike(COMP T/A 57) went too looking for a new best and broke his gas pedal off on his first pass
Eric, I think those are incredible times for mild bolt-ons. I'd love to be hitting those in ANY air, anywhere!
Thanks man - and I sure don't want to sound ungrateful for what this awesome car can put up! I guess it's just hard not to be greedy. Thanks!!! Eric
Very nice job Eric! So Mike broke his gas pedal off, ehh? He's actually the second guy I know to have broken it off. Could he jury rig it well enough to drive home at least?
Those are great times Eric, Especially with your mods. But greed a good thing. That is what keeps us comming back. Congrats man great runs.
Yeah he was able to rig it and limp home, I think he's in for a warranty fix this week, the pedal is $300! Eric
Eric your trap speed shows the power your car has too bad the track did not allow for it to hook and get but congrats for keeping at it.
I know that fustration Eric... I had it all summer your time will be coming ! Broken gas peddle ? I guess we can't stomp too hard can we ?
