    Help me spend it!

    I have on the car now: AFE2, Diablotune, 180* thermo and a Magnaflow catback.

    I'm not going forged (not enough budget) & not doing nitrous (I want full-time power improvement). I really don't drag race so I'm leaning against half-shafts as well. I'm want the most "full-time" bang for my buck.

    Considering my aforementioned mods:

    A satin Vortech V3 system with kooks headers and midpipe & a "stock bottom-end safe" CMR tune. Might be able to squeeze in a torque converter as well but install costs are part of the $8k, so I doubt it. I would have a pro do the headers/exhaust and probably do the Vortech myself, still undecided, might try to bargain for a "package deal".

    Or ported heads, bigger cam, torque converter, headers and midpipe with a CMR tune (all pro installed).

    Or... an STS twin turbo kit with tune.

    Heads(PPP just came out with new ones or is about to) cam (call andy and get a custom made blower cam) used supercharger ( I just got a gs paxton novi 1500 for 2k)and long tubes and you got yourself a high 11 second car. then later on down the road if you save some money you can buy a forged rotating assembly

    Thom,

    The S/C is a great buy, but you can do heads, cam, headers, tune, and a TC for about the same price.

    Either way you will win.

    For 8K Stu at inertia can make your car 10X better than a supercharger! Your gonna spend around 5-6K for a supercharger and then you gotta play with it to get it right. Stay nat. aspirated....much better for the motor! You could also call josh a HHP and do a stage 2 set-up which in my opinion is the best value on the market hands down! Just ask hemisfear that has it on his car......this set-up runs 7500.00 with instalation!

    Go for heads, cam, highflows and catback, ported intake and upgraded injectors. You'll be miles a head. I would suggest you call Inertia.

    I've heard awesome stuff about Stu's packages from my installer Luke and other friends. The HHP Stage II pacakge is nice as well and I'm a happy customer thus far. You'll probably have some cash left over for a bit more as well considering you have the basics.

    I know we can get ~540 crank with the Vortech, what's the increase with the ported heads, cam, headers, cmr tune and catless mids? I wouldn't imagine more than 60 crank.

    This car is still my daily driver and I do a lot of road trips (Phoenix & Denver) almost every w/e.

    I just want something I can lay the occasional smackdown with (with easy mid-to-low 12's & possible high 11's with drag radials).

    That's all I want, lol!

    I'm putting down 460 at the rears and my tuning is not done yet. But really, a good set of heads, cam and the remainder I outlined will be right there. It'll give you between 450-470 with the proper tune. Be completely free of wacked out crap for daily driving as long as you don't go for some huge cam. And will be trouble free.

    I keep trying to get these local vortec boys to run me, but they can't find their way to the track.

    Here's the last dyno I did.

    * HHP Ported & Polished Heads and Intake Manifold w/ Upgraded Springs
    * HHP Stage 2 Custom Camshaft
    * Higher stall torque converter
    * B&G Stage 2 PCM Flash

    this is off the web site, some one tell me why this costs 7500$ installed. I got my intake ported and painted for 300$ my heads cost me a little under 2000 my cam was 400 TQ 650 and who uses a bg flash any more. so lets call it a predator for 375. thats 3725$ lets just call it 4k. so your telling me it cost 3500 to install heads and cam???
    I am not saying HHP doesnt have a great product,l because they do, it just cost a alot. you can get a cam with their cam specs on it and heads that are very close to being the same and a RDP TQ for alot cheaper.

    Black I know most my of my shit about vendors packages and things about my car. I am by no means a mechanic and I admit that. But I do spend a lot of time on this site and talking to vendors and people that know alot more than me. so my question has been thought about for a while that's why I didnt get their package a year ago. but thanks for thinking you know any thing about me and my knowledge

    Get a vortech kit with a upgraded intercooler, and bigger pully, mabye some water meth and you will be happy. plus a good cmr tune

    Awesome, thanks Cam! Those are very respectable rear wheel numbers for an N/A motor! I could live with n/a 450 rwhp (which is all I'd expect with a s/c anyway). Truthfully, I'd like to do the an H/C/I package prior to any form of FI just b/c it'd be a pain in the ass to do it the other way around.

    That, and I do like the idea of laying the smackdown w/o FI also. The motor would still look bonestock.

    What kind of times are you running? (or have you not run yet due to the tune?) ***edit*** just saw you're running 12's. That's where I want to be!
