now i just posted this on the lx forums and so im prepared for the disbelief and doubt im about to get..went to mcdonals seen a guy sitting in a black on black c6 zo6 (BONE STOCK) enjoying his mcflurry i pull on side of him and ask him does he run it to my surprise he says yes!(he also added that he has never lost a race)which i have no problem believing.we get out and look at each others cars and it is a legit zo6 and he actually likes the grocery getter!he sees the nitrous and says that right there is going to put me ahead of him i respond with nah i dont think so you will probably get me,and i meant it i didnt think i had a chance just wanted to see how close it would be.so we line up im in 2nd gear around 4K three honks and i jump out on him about half car i continue to to pull hard on him up untill 120ish i notice around that time im not quite pulling on him as hard as i was but none the less he def wasnt gaining any ground on me.when we shut down at about 140 or 150ish i had maybe 2 or 2 1/2 on him,but remeber i got a 1/2 on the jump so just say 1 1/2 maybe 2.as we slowed down to make a u turn he told me sumthin ill have wet dreams about for the next month "man i couldnt catch you,i tried but i couldnt" now the 2nd run on the way back...
2nd run...the guys tells me dont worry about 3 honks just hit it he'll know when i get on it...so hes rolling pretty fast dont know exact mph but i was trying to get him to slow down(flashing brights) he did slow a little bit not much all i know i was in 3rd gear at around 3k a dead spot imo,but i said what the heck n20 should get me through that pretty quick.well as im coming up on him about 2 car lengths i hit it,i jump about a half closer to him and he hits it.he slowly starts pulling on me then at the big end i start slowly but surely sucking him up got to about 1 1/2 behind him and we shut it down.man 140 or 150 sure does get there quick with the n2o! we took different exits and parted ways with and few friendly waves and honks and that was that,really cool guy!
lol...here comes the "driver error" and "u didnt beat the car u beat the driver" part. let me just tell u what i have afe 180 t stat catless mids jba cat back diablo (of course) zex(125 shot) shr custom tune (really just a torque managment tune)
LOL @ the mcflurry, good runs man. I work with a guy who has a Zo6 and we always end up goofing off on the freeway when we leave work. Turns out they have a pretty bad dead spot right around 50mph so I believe it.
hmmm...never heard of that b4..but that would explain it though!..1st run prolly around 50 i pulled him...2nd run prolly around 70 he pulled me..yep makes sense to me.

was you on the spray,or all motor. c6 zo6 will desrtoy us in any gear. i wasnt there so idont know what to say.
Considering most vette owners Jmatt excluded are douchbags atleast the ones I have met I congradulate you. Now reality, with a good driver he will get it (Z06) in the 10's with DR, chalk it up as a win due to a bad driver not the car. As much as I hate vette owners I do love the car and its capabilities. Stock for stock we lose and mod for mod its not even close.
i totally agree with you awesome cars well at least the zo6 and new ls3 im not very impressed with the ls2 version but still a great platform none the less..i dont know how i got him and i dont want to know..all i know is i won and im going to run with that until i get my ass handed to me by some other zo6...lol...but the likelyhood of me running into another zo6 owner and them actually wanting to run there car is going to be hard to find!i know a couple other ones but there "real street racers" and only run for $..and thats sumthin i dont do even if i know i would win.
I have been to the track quite a bit since early June .... I have run across some actually Z06s Every experienced Z06 driver I have run across at the track have gone into the 11s high 10's and even TT that ran into the 9's. I have beaten a couple BUT in each case 95 % of the time is the driver blew the launch, underestimated or was showboating ... or new driver and had not figured out the various traction controls setting he had available.
man if all this is true about the zo6 what in the hell do you all think the zr1 will run with some real sticky tires?...maybe 9's bone stock?..if so man thats just not fair!!!:crying:
the ZR1 is rumored to not be that much faster then a Z06, which i truly dont understand. Make it lighter and add 140hp.....i guess traction issues. come out to the east coast....ill hand you your ass in a Z06...lol.....nice kill man!
Its a drivers world out there and things happen, you had a better day and obviously know you car better than he did so great kill.
