I'm getting ready to buy my boost-a-pump. Either the MSD 2350 or the Kenne Bell, which one do you guys suggest? If the Kenne Bell the 20 or 40 amp?
    Thanks!
    Mike

If your going NA then you need to get the kenny bel pump the MSD one needs boost to come on. Last time I checked your going turbos so I would say the MSD but the Kenny bell is a great unit to. I only have EXP with the keny bell sorry.
I will be getting MSD pump for my supercharger

The MSD or the Kenne Bell can be set-up to be boost activated.

I have more experience with MSD so MSD 2350 it is.
The S/C hasn't sold so I'll be installing it until I forge my bottom end then switching out to a turbo setup.
    :)

    No problem at all Mike.

I do "Highly" recommend that when you do the install, upgrade the wiring from the BA (especially the fuseable link) to a larger gauge wire (I believe I switched to a 10g?).

I have something I believe none of you guys have. A fuel pressure gauge. I have the big black injectors. Did 623/650 with fuel pressure never dropping below 57 lbs. without a boostapump. Nomal pressure is 59 to 60 lbs. My N2O tune is about 480 HP, NA was 505. Was pretty hot out and so my was motor. So going to 623 from 480 is a 143 HP on a 150 shot. So I'm not running out of fuel.

A fuel pressure cutoff switch will be my next mod.

Yea, but you are NOT running a blower Hal. That is the difference. The Blower or Turbo will need the boost a pump to allow for more fuel while in boost.

I'm making more HP and TQ than 95% of all boosted cars, which requires more fuel, along with bigger injectors than pretty much everyone also. I'm making more HP than pretty much everyone when their not in boost also, right?

So I don't see how a FI car would need more fuel than my car.

I think everyone was talked into the need for a Boostapump, more as a precautionary step, than actual need. Some have had issues with boostapumps. Fred or Frank has, maybe both.

I think switching to the Walbro unit, which the Viper uses as stock, makes more sense than a boostapump.

Understood, but, going into boost throw's more air at a quicker pace which our fuel system can't keep up with. Hence the need for the BA. This assists in regulating the A/F when going into boost.

I do agree that an upgraded fuel pump, lines, blah blah is a better choice. One problem, the only kit on the market is fricken EXPENSIVE! The BA is a cheaper and proven method.

Oh yea, and Anthony (UDLUUZ) is pushing over 800rwhp and is using the boost a pump with no issues.

Understood, but hittng 4000 RPM and the window switch adding 143 HP instantaniously demands more fuel than FI ramping up to boost, Right?

How do we really know if a boostapump is actually doing anything? No one runs a fuel pressure gauge other than me that I know of.

Andy by the way guys, I'm by no way saying not run a boostapump. I'm just saying that IMHO I don't see the need for it on my car or anyone less HP than me. NOT proven.

Anthony needs the Walbro, maybe 2. He may have ran out of fuel if his 2nd stage had fired. Maybe that was a good thing it didn't. A boostapump would only be a bandaid when you start making those kind of numbers.

I will install the S/C and see what happens, if I start losing fuel pressure I'll install the BAP. Saves me $225 for now which I can spend on my alky/water kit instead.

FWIW: I think I have all the parts to my Kenne Bell Boost-a-pump since I removed it and sold my car.

If I have all the pieces, I'll sell it to you for 50% of the new cost.

It's just sitting here - I'm in no hurry, but have no use for it.
