Talked to someone yesterday who claim's to know a Chrysler executive and this is the exact picture that they painted as well. "Negotiations have ramped up and the deal could be done much sooner than experts expect."
If it happens I going to buy up every performance Chrysler product I can get my hands on(SRT8s and SRT10s). I sure hope it does NOT happen.....If the investment company is doing so poorly what do they have 11 billion in cash on hand. Something does not make sense other then the fact they should have never gotten involved to start with....
Maybe it was their intention to spin off the company right from the start. With the economy today, it may have turned into a fire sale though.
Word on the inside is that it's pretty much a done deal. Cerberus want 100% of GMAC and GM can drop a competitor. Recent numbers show over 60000 jobs will be lost because of it.
Did anyone expect anything less of Cerbius? They dont give a shit about workers, cars etc all they car about is the bottom line which is $ and if they have to slash 50-60,000 jobs so be it there execs will be paid. Reminds me of the ass raping AIG is doing to the american tax payer right now.
Initially, I had difficulty fathoming the speculation that all but the Jeep and the minivan segments would be left with the others tossed. Then thinking about it, though...it might make sense to Cyberus & GM. What a sad, shitty realization.
