I'm taking the Challenger R/T down to Diablo later today for a stock dyno pull. So far I have not done any performance mods to the car, and I want to see what it puts down stock, so I can get on with the mods! Dodge rated the engine at 372hp and 398tq so we'll see how much horsepower and torque makes it to the tires. I'll post up later this evening with the results.

Nice can wait to see some numbers. After reading that you bought one I was looking for a white one. but I think I will wait till I can get one for half that price used and slap my motor in there

Well, the verdict is in! I took my Challenger R/T to Diablo this evening for some baseline dyno numbers, as my car is still 100% stock. Special thanks to Johan at Diablo for the help today!

    Car: 2009 Challenger R/T (5.7L)
    Transmission: 5-speed Autostick
Mods: None. Stock everything, stock 18" wheels

    RWHP: 334.5
    RWTQ: 352.4

Dyno: Superflow (similar in hold back to a Mustang dyno)

    Temperature: 88*
    Humidity: 68%

    Date: 10/6/08
    Time: 6:23p

Clearly, the horsepower and torque from Dodge is under-rated for these new 5.7L motors in the cars. The trucks get a 392/410 rating, but the cars get a 372/398 rating. Based on the average powertrain loss of 17%, the rear wheel power seen on the dyno today indicates the engine power for the R/T Challenger is right in line with that of the 392/410 truck rating. Great news for everyone with (or getting) a new 5.7L!

All in all, I am super happy with the baseline numbers and now the modding can begin!!

Here's one video from the front: tvBMC.com
I took one from the rear as well to show how the exhaust sounds, so I'll post that up as well.

Here is my dyno sheet ... you can see how there is a lag down low, but the power kicks in crazy at 4,000 and runs strong through the max power at 4,500 rpm. I'm looking forward to seeing how Diablo's canned and custom tunes improve the stock curve and power levels! Just a few more weeks or so for that. :)
