I got the HHP Stage 2 package for my SRT8 Charger and now I have more power than my street tires can handle. I went out last night to some industrial area where there is no traffic to practice my launches (using 0-60MPH EVIC function) and it was like driving on ice. Not only the launch but the 1-2 shift causes me to lose traction completely (very scary on the 1-2 shift). I have 275/40/20 Vredesteins so I thought I had a decent gripping street tire.

It will take some getting used to before I can put this power down in a productive manner. It seems that drag radials or slicks and 1000 HP halfshafts will be a must at the track. Not just for low ETs but for safety as well.

I'm getting my heads, cam, intake and LT's put on in a couple of weeks and expect the same thing. It's tempting to get half-shafts and DR's just to run on the street so the car will hook-up. I've also got 275/40's, but don't expect any kind of traction with them. Oh well, this is want we wanted right!!!:thumb2:

Nice problem you have there. hahaha

As the temps drop, the power is going to increase, so be prepared. ;)

I agree with this one Ron! I had major traction problems last year in the winter going into 2nd gear and that was before the TC. This year is going to be crazy with the extra power.

Yeah, it was funny because I was actually slower (0-60MPH) because of the inability to keep traction. It's true that when you change one thing on a car you have to change a whole series of other things due to unintended consequences.

It will be even worse. According to Bud the Vreds get very slippery under 50 degrees or so.

I tried to tell him that.
I would get some half shafts, MT ET streets or the hoosier streets, and run it on those cobra r replics. (kinda like mine) and run a 20" nito 555r drag radial for the street.

Thanks for your concern, Steve. I'm not the guy at this point but you'll unload those parts sooner than later.
