Ok...well, this past Friday, I went and picked up a puppy from some low-life. I saw the pics and I was like WTF :furious:. Puppy was skinny, could see the hip bones, spine, and rips. Infested with fleas, and was dirty as all hell. Said she sleeps outside  She was so timid, scared of every move I made. First night at home, she was scared for a few hours...then after playing with my other dogs, she finally lightened up. I have a thing for neglected dogs, I can't stand it. I'm actually considering calling the SPCA of that county cause he had 2 more dogs in the back. He even admitted of looking to breed them :mouth:. I discussed briefly with my girlfriend, and we took her home. Bathed her, for a good 45 minutes to make sure she was clean and gone of all fleas. Cleaned her ears which were full of dirt. Then I fed her...she ate like she never ate before. As of now, she seems 100x happier, don't see her bones as bad as before, she's very playful now with us and the other dogs. Still needs a lil more house training, does very well on a leash, and will be getting her shots next month. Not sure how old she is...guy said she's 12 weeks. Now...I can't think of a name for her ...I think she looks like a cow, but I'm out of ideas, and Taina (my girlfriend) was like see what the guys have to say....so ya, any suggestions? :thanks: these pics were taken today...i took some of the night we got her after her bath, have to upload them still. The big dog is Lexus, my mother fell in love with her and is taking her home and spoil her to death. Hence why I got another dog. The little shaggy one is Gizmo, my girlfriend wanted him. Cute, but an ankle biter for sure  That's my mom telling me she's taking her home when she comes back to FL
good for you. i also have a thing for neglected dogs. dogs are probly the only non-piece of shit living creatures left on this planet today, so they deserve a second chance. my mom works for rescue siberians. one time she stole a dog living down the street from us because the neighbors were practically killing it. it was hilarious. the scumbags didnt even notice their dog was missing for a few days. oh yeah, name it momo
She is a real nice looking dog. That is a good story to hear. She will be in tip top condition quickly with the great care that you will give her. I'm sure that someone in this group will come up with a suggestion for a fitting name.
Great save man. She is a great looking puppy. I like Wade's idea of Patch, but I am not sure that is fitting for a female? How about Skittle or Skittles? Yup, cause you have a Skittle. haha
The first picture kinda reminded me of the Spud McKensie dog that used be in those TV commercials. Since that name is taken already, and Spud doesn't seem like a good name for a girl dog, you could just go with McKensie. BTW...nice save, she looks like she'll be a cute dog.
thanks guys... i seem to have a thing with neglected dogs...I found Lexus in BFE, a family didn't want her anymore, they lived in a trailer home full of cats and another dog, and seemed to have property full of stuff they scavenged. Took her in, and got her healthy, UTD on shots, and she's been with us for 2 years now. But my mom wants her and can't say no to my mom. So now I'll have another puppy to raise and keep the lil one campanion. Skittles lol...that's great. Hard to find a female name that fits haha
Congrats on the new pup Juan. Tina told me that you 2 were going to get another pit. She is a cutie. To bad you guys are so far away we could of had another play date with the boys. Make sure you get her spayed as soon as possible. One of the girls that volunteer at the rescue group is a vet and she was telling me that you can let the females go through their 1st heat cycle but after that you want to get her spayed ASAP otherwise she will be a high high risk at getting cancer. And turn them in for treating those dogs so poorly.
Lexus is going to the vet on Wed to get fixed...this one (no name yet lol), will get fixed in a few months, just want to get her shots and healthy. didn't know they were high risk though, thanks for the heads up.
Thats good to hear and your welcome. I only knew that they were at risk but I never realized how high of a risk and how soon they had to get spayed until the vet told me about it.
