I got the HHP Stage 2 package (ported heads and intake plus cam), Protorque 2800 stall converter, SLP underdrive pulley Kook's long tubes with high-flows, Zoomers catback, 3" custom x-pipe, Airaid CAI, Coolit Mod, BWoody spacers, CMR tune by Bob at SVS in Sacramento, etc. My best with CMR tune, catback, intake and Coolit was 12.77@108MPH (1.96 60' foot). My dyno numbers with this setup were 402 HP/390 TQ. My new dyno numbers are 455 HP/410 TQ. The dyno numbers (before and after) were on a Dyno Dynamics dyno which reads low (like a Mustang dyno). My first runs at the track were 12.71@110 MPH and 12.58@111 MPH (2.01 60'). I had to leave as it was my wife's birthday and she had been patient enough. The DA was about 1000' and dropping (cooling off fast). I'm hoping for a 12.3X or 12.4X with some cooler weather and some better launching on my part. The car pulls like crazy. I was a little conservative leaving the line because I didn't want to spin the tires. I was a little concerned about what felt like a bang on the 1-2 shift. I don't know how bad for the transmission such a strong shift is when there is no tire slipping. In other SRT8 drag racing news somebody on this forum got 12 flat @ 115 but wasn't satisfied. A stock SRT8 Challenger ran 13.36 and a SRT8 300 with Volant intake and Magnaflow catback ran 13.7 And 13.4. There was a lady driving a V10 M5 who seemd pretty clueless. She ran a best of 13.2@112. Her boyfriend was coaching her between runs. FYI I'm running 275/40/20 Vredesteins.
Congrats Jeff, it looks like you're having some fun at the track. Do you have any pic's of your new engine bay? Ken
WOW Jeff, a 12.5 with a 2.01 60?!?! Holy cow, you get that down and you're really gonna be flyin!! Congrats! Hopefully I'll see you out there in a few weeks.
I agree with Scotty on this one. That's the whole issue with drag racing and times it seems...if ya can't launch it hard and hook-up your times are going to show it. I don't think anyone with a stage 2 set-up car can break into the 11's without DR's and cool air. Also I didn't notice that you have a higher-stall TC either.
I have 3 tips for you, Pratice Practice and Practice. You'll get there . The question is how soon do you wanna get there ?
Congrats Jeff! Not bad for the first time out with the new setup. How many miles do you have on her thus far? My car honestly woke up as the tune and the new setup accumulated miles. I see no reason that you can knock off a couple tenths on street tires. hehehehe.
Thanks man! Probably about 70 miles when I ran (all highway). How did you at the track when you first got yours back? What kind of times/MPH did you get with a crappy 2.0+ 60'?
I am the guy who went 12.0 at 155 with a 1.88 sixty foot . as for the lady in the BMW that guy looked like her kid no a husband and if he was a husband good for her. Nice times man go get some tires like mine and your set.
