Hey guys let me get some of your input....I went to 1/8 mile tonight just to see where I was at....Only mod is afe stage II Best timeslip was 60'- 2.18 1/8- 8.90 mph-82.00 Seems kinda slow to me? ANyways the diablosport should be here tomorrow and i'll put in the tstat ANy tips on getting the 60' down? rear tire psi was 25 Tried launching anywhere from 1200-2000rpms Car didn't really spin just seemed to bog down ***I also did not reset the ecu after I installed the intake....Does that matter?
Actually that is about right. What DA was it at your track? Don't stall so high. Right about 1,000rpm and feather the gas out of the hole. Our two ton anchors do not perform to well on the 1/8 mile. The tune will certainly help thing out. Even better is a CMR tune by one of our resident tuners.
Ron's right, that's actually not that bad for your mods. Traction will always be a problem for our boats. Until you get into some DR's (don't forget the new half shafts Lol) it is pretty hard to get those 60' times under 1.9...
What does DA mean? What seemed weird was when I was launching at 1,000rpms the car seemed to bog and tires didn't spin much.....should i keep it in autostick or full automatic? I'm actually 10 minutes away from Diablosport so maybe I can have them tune it? Is reseting the ecu necessary after putting the intake in? Thanks for the help guys and sorry for all the crazy questions
Ahhh you are in Florida... lol DA = Density Air It makes up the weathers altitude. Since you are still in hot weather and high humidty, the DA was probably high. Heat Soak is also an issue and is probably the bogging feeling. Stick that bad boy in "D" and drive. You actually did pretty good. Practice makes perfect. Only YOU can find your cars sweet spot at the track.
Thanks I just looked up the temp it's 85deg with 86% humidity The car was definitely pretty hot because there was only like 25 people there What about reseting the ecu? Does that help? BTW One of the runs I got to race a new skyline He went 60'- 1.67 1/8- 7.6
I also got beat by a 70 yr old dude in a jeep srt8 He had K&N Filter Kooks long tubes with no cats Diablosport 180 tstat good tires He also went 7.8 or 7.9
The car will learn the intake, I wouldn't sweat pulling the fuse if you haven't already. The DA(density altitude) is the elevation that the car thinks it is running at based on atmospheric conditions. In Florida you could get some seriously good conditions in the winter. I personally have seen my best 60 foots and e.t.s by loading the converter somewhere around 1500 rpms and then rolling out and flooring it over the course of about a second. It takes practice, but you can get a feel for it. These cars seem to get faster the more you race them, so don't hold back brother...you do have the fastest color too Eric
I would highly recommend it. Have Johan tune it - he really knows his stuff. I'm near Sarasota (grew up in Coral Springs) and I take the 3hr hike to Diablo anytime I need a change in the tune.
Any idea on what they charge for a custom tune? I reset the pcm and the car actually feels a little faster (maybe it's just in my head).....The diablosport should be here in an hour or so....I can't wait to get that thing in the car! haha yea I knew the paint had to add at least 30whp....Moroso is getting redone so hopefully in november when the weather cools down a bit i'll get some 1/4 mile runs.....I think by then i'll have the nitrous kit installed, i'm getting tired of it just sitting in the garage
I knew you would like the Diablo wait til you get a custom CRM tune on that bad boy it will put an even bigger grin and we have THE BEST SRT tuners in the world right here
I called Diablosport yesterday and they told me they no longer do custom tuning....They referred me to another shop in pompano beach....I wonder why they stopped?
Probably for liability reasons and possibly some of the CMR tuners did not like losing business after spending a good sum to get the CMR software from them
