I'm sure in our lifetime we'll buy something fake knowingly and unknowingly.

There's been a latest craze within my job now because of a co-worker. Baseball is going on... Football season is here. Why not take advantage of it and sell "fake" jerseys.

    The plan he iniated...
Showcase a jersey of a famous player that no longer plays. State that he can get any jersey of any player who has retired or no longer plays.

Now everyone is pressed on getting one...
    Michael Jordan
    Babe Ruth
    Pete Rose
    etc. (the list goes on)

Do they know its "fake"? Of course not. The jerseys come with an attached price tag. I've taken a glance of a few and on the price tag it states $320.00. A key ingredient to his selling scheme. The jersey's are being sold by the co-worker ranging from $65.00-$75.00.

The next question in your mind is... How do you know they are fake?
Easy as cake, the little details people tend to miss. As another worker pointed out who has Authentic jerseys... on the neck collar, the namebrand label there is a pink backing when held up in a direction towards the light, as well as the price tags should have the Team Name as well as the Players Number. Instead the tag looks like its been printed off a home printer with cheap ink, no information besides a barcode... a said price... and a marking of the company logo.

Today, I inspected a football jersey a co-worker/friend bought. It had a NFL tag to it... BUT an altered tag. What do you mean? Well, the old eye trick. Anything that follows namebrand correlation there's copyright laws in place. So for instance the NFL website carried a space... www.NFL.com (correct) but on the jersey it was www.NF L.com, not to mention other words within the label that were spaced out.

A lot of people don't pay attention to print nor the overall details. With the way things are now-a-days... a lot of things are copied... a lot of things are fake.

there are a lot of fakes out there, no doubt about it. the main thing that happens around here is guys in the airforce get back from china or tailand and bring home a shitload of jerseys. they buy them there for 20 bucks a pop and sell them back here for 50 - 75. they are authentic, just old....usually a season or two back.

Also, an FYI: Most overseas producers of infringement goods (purses, clothing, DVD's, etc.) are in the middle east and China. Hmm... we know the Chinese are commies and enemies of the USA... and the middle east is known for...

Exactly folks. Do you see the big picture?

Counterfeit goods support our enemies. So, purchasing a knock-off Dooney and Bourke purse for the wife seems innocent enough, until you realize that $10 of that $50 purchase just went to some fucknut in Palestine to buy a grenade and some ammo, or as a down payment on a plane ticket to the USA.

It is essential to report counterfeit goods to the authorities folks. Its a MAJOR scheme that killers are using to fund their operations against US.

Don't ask how I know this shit, I just do.

Sometimes it can be legit, but still jacked up.

For X-mas a couple of years ago, Rachel surprised me with a "team-signed" Colorado Avalanche jersey.
    It was AWESOME!
    ($1400 of awesome)

Anyway, I'm all jacked and take a bunch of pics of it then email them to family and friends.
Almost immediately I get an email back from my brother, who could go toe-to-toe with Berman when it comes to stats (esp. the NFL). He says, "I hate to tell you this on X-mas, Kev, but....you're missing a bunch of signatures."
    WTF!?!?!?!?
    No Sakic sig (team captain)
    No Forsberg sig
    ...and a few others.
After some quick checks online and some research by my brother, I realized it was true.
Totally ruined Christmas, esp. for Rachel, who thought she'd gotten the ultimate gift.

So I call the place that Rachel got the jersey from and told them the problem. They said, "There are no refunds, so we will issue you store credit." I reply with, "Nice, but there's nothing I want from your store. Just refund our money." They continued to refuse. The store owner got on the horn and said, "We can get Joe's [Sakic] signature for you. Send us the jersey and we'll have him sign it in March."
WTF!?!?!? Three months AFTER Christmas, and it STILL wouldn't be "team-signed"!?!??!

I boxed it up, sealed it with Rachel's tears, and sent it back.
An hour later I'm on the phone with the CC company doing a charge back.
Full refund from the CC company in less than 48 hours.

If you shop at Wal-Mart your just as much part of the problem as someone buying a knock off jersey. So how many of you shop at Wally World?:thongue2:

Darkness- how much. Name your price.
    :D

BTW- I shop at WallyWorld, BUT it's for brands I know/recognize.
    - Mobil1...ehhh....not exactly terror supporting, but....
    - I bought a case from Philips (not a terror supporter AFAIK) for a portable DVD player.
I believe that use of a frontal lobe will keep you off the terror supporters list, no matter where you shop.
