Did you guys leave the IAT sensor in the factory location or is has it been relocated away from the intake manifold some?
ummmmm, wow....... what are the significant difference from this and the multitude of other cai on the market at lower prices. not being a smartazz, but rather would like to hear why this is better.
The biggest difference is we're all about real world performance, and making a lot of it. You won't find any exaggerated claims, just actual dyno and flow bench data from the actual parts we produce. We've got the engineering capabilities and core competency to extract the best power gain in the design of our components. Here's our Horsepower Matrix for the Cold Air Kit upgrade on the Dodge platform. The performace gain over stock (as advertised) is 20.68HP and 26.49ft.lbs, as represented by Run # 25 in the Chart. However, with our Custom Diablo Tune the power increases to 30.46HP and 43.01ft.lbs.
I dig it. I was thinking of buying a new CAI coming this spring when I typically do all my big mods. This one is beautiful, and sounds like it makes more power than my K&N I have now. Definitely will keep this in mind..... Chase
need to see where yours differs from all others, it looks like a airraid, need some differences between the two and what makes yours perform better.
I know there was some questions about the excel document. Below is the actual DynoJet Data run. We use a DynoJet 248LC with Eddy Current Load Cell for Calibration Tuning. The data represented is for the addition of our TECHCO Cold Air Kit onto a completely Stock 2007 Dodge Charger R/T 5.7L, both with (Run #31) and without (Run #25) tune.
John, Thanks for the graphs and spreadsheet. You guys are certainly doing a great job with the research and development. However, you would be better off showing what the 6.1L motor can do as the difference between the 5.7 and 6.1 for performance gains is night and day. Keep on developing...
Here's a better view of the Cold Air Kit from the Front of the Engine Bay. The really trick part of the design is the enormous volume Air Filter Shroud that is 30-50% larger than the other CAI kits on the market allowing us to package a filter with the least amount of taper to yield the highest flow volume. The Air Filter Shroud itself is fully closed out so there are zero leaks to let in surrounding engine heat. Additionally the use of Billet Aluminum parts used for the Venturi and 100mm Inlet Adapter (silver part in the photo) are both functional and look trick. We're using machined aluminum parts instead of injection molded plastic so there are absolutely no parting (mold) lines on the leading edge of the air intake path, as in most cold air kits that use an injection mold venturi.
UM WOW. What's with the strut tower brace! That one I like and no cutting of the hood shroud. I'd like it a lot if the red was black or silver.
