Don't know if this has been posted on this forum before. I saw it on another forum with photos showing a stock x-pipe which was a fake (flow in both pipes stay separated). My x-pipe came off today and it was the same, cosmetic x-pipe only, flow in both pipes stay separated. For shame Dodge :-( I had Zoomers whip me up a true 3" x-pipe to go with my HHP Stage 2 cam and heads. I'll let you know how it goes. Jeff
I'm hoping for Infineon next Wednesday! I got my fingers crossed that I don't have too many more surprises with my build. How's your car?
tuning it on friday so If all goes well i will see u there. You should try to get there on time so I am not leaving as your getting there
You should stick around! I got to wait for my wife to get home from work so we can head out with our 4-year-old. He likes the track. I just remembered that this coming Wednesday is my wife's birthday. I'll have to convince her that a trip to the track is somehow a gift to her
OK, it will probably be Monday or Tuesday before I know for sure. I want to make sure my car is pretty solid before I go and race it.
i have seen this once before and it seemed as if the earlier builds (06's) had actual x-pipes and later cars did not. i know when i had my exhaust done, hi flow cats, 3" tubing from x-pipe, magnaflow 3" muffs, 3" tubing to the tips, i looked at the x-pipe closely while it laid on the ground. it was real....... btw, mine is an 06' built in 12/05
Mine is an '07 built in December '06. They also started discontenting the cars by then as I was missing several pieces of underhood trim as well. How do you like the full 3" exhaust? I am doing that as well ... Kooks headers, midpipes to 3" x-pipe to 3" Zoomers. I was a little worried that the increase in flow might be too much.
Is there an easy way to check this without pulling it all apart? My build it 05/06, whata ya guys think ... it is real or is it memorex? lol And is it worth replacing if it is a fake??
Just did my exhaust, checked my stock x-pipe and it WAS real. Build date of 04/06. I think a real one definitely helps FWIW...they didn't invent them just for fun Eric
love it!!!! lost a little down low in seat of the pants grunt with the addition of the hi flows, but above 3k rpm the cars just screams!!!!
I don't get it. I mean, say you're the factory making these things. Why go through the trouble of creating a fake x-pipe. It seems more trouble than it's worth. I'm also wondering if DCX ever knew this was occurring.
How would they ever know unless they actually put a light inside them. Seemed pretty stupid to me too. My car sounds so diffent now with the headers and 3" exhaust. Kind of goes "woooooooo" instead of "grrrrrrrrrrrrr" It's quieter now on the outside (in general) but louder on the inside (especially around 2000 rpm).
