Guess that is what you can call it…..not an all out drag race considering we were on Highway 24, a one-lane highway, between Falcon and Peyton CO. It actually started by a man in a 04 black Mustang Mach 1 was hot doggin’ around the Wal-Mart parking lot. Drove by him at the light and gave him a “thumbs down.†Just as I passed him at the light, he jumped in right behind Kim and me. We turned to head out of town and he is still behind us. Had no idea what this guy was going to do on a two lane highway. Through all of the traffic leaving town….he stayed about a car length or two behind us. Right at Elbert Highway, the final vehicle in front of us turned left so I slowed. Just as the van turned….I looked in the rear view and he had himself in the right position to sling shot right past me in the left lane. Kim stated….there he goes. I punched it and from around 60 to 160, I was a car length off of his rear bumper. Right then, I was looking at the oncoming traffic because I was still pulling on him and I had plenty of pedal left to pass. We were getting close to the next town and we had caught up to slower traffic. He starts braking, eventually completely slowing and pulls over onto the highway shoulder. As Kim and I passed him…..nothing but the smell of burning rubber, etc was around that car. He stayed on the shoulder as we passed for a bit and finally I saw him in the rearview….do a u-turn to head back. Kim laughs and then asked…..do I even dare to ask how fast…..I state at least 160….she puts her head in her hands and states….WOW. Now….before the Charger I owned a 04 Mustang GT and I am going to assume this Mach 1 had to have some mods of some kind. Anyone have thoughts of the possibilities?
Nice... Mach 1's are pretty fast out of the box, but more than likely he had all the bolt-ons and a nice tune?
Just looked at the Edmunds website.....the Mach 1 is rated at 310 horses and I'm starting to think, if he was not modded at all, he was red lining it the whole time. No wonder the car stunk when we drove by.
Ive ran a few mach1's, Im not sure what the stock rear end is but the only one that kept up ok had gears, i wanna say 3.73 but not sure. The rest had bolt ons and were good races but easily won. I agree on the N20, its a def possibility. Or no spray but geared with bolt ons and a tune. Theres no telling but thats what makes it fun...
I definitely have to agree with you...lots of fun and get this; my car is still 100 percent stock. A year or so, I will have some mods done and then it will really be interesting.
dude u need the pred. Its a whole new car. I had read so much about the difference it made and i figured...exaggeration. Yeah! my damn fault for waiting longer then i should have. Its a must, good luck on it and by the way, you have the car I wanted. torred is beautiful.
