Just got my Bendix pads and upon opening, I noticed there's a pink goop on the sides of 2 of the pads... almost like glue... WTF?

What should I use to clean this crap off the brake pads? Or, just wipe it off as good as possible and let it 'burn' off from use?

If you have to ask, you should be paying someone else to do your brakes.

It's probably anti-squeal lubricant (I'm suprised you didn't recognize it).

Naw... I've seen that lube before, it isn't THAT sticky... I'll have to wait until I get home and open everything up and see... if there's a pack of lube in there, then that pink goop ain't it!

OK, the pink is where, in the middle? lol
You'll be fine, just install those pads already.

Pads is a 1 hour job (2 if you wax the inside of your wheels while they're off). You need to break it into 2 days?

Being its my first solo attempt, that I have a baby at home and that I actually work past 5 most days (RYAN!)... yeah, it might end up being a 2 day project!

    "Wheels off. check"
    "Old pads removed. check"
"Did you see any stickers in the box? CRAP! now we'll have to wait until tomorrow to see if we can find stickers"

    Momo, I think it's admirable you're doing this yourself.:good:

Stickers?????? WTF you don't need stickers in changing out brakes...ok I'm lost...brake pad removing and installing is an easy task my 9 year old daughter can do it. (But we've never used stickers).

    Not true.

Nothing wrong with someone trying to learn to do things on his own, and then having some questions along the way.

It's sort of a forum thing. Momo has a sticker for every mod he's done on the underside of his hood. Just recently he had a whole thread looking for KW stickers because he bought his KWs used and there weren't any stickers with them. Got to have stickers.

OOOHHHH Got it. I was a little confused there for a second......Thought I was losing it or hubby was showing me a shortcut that I probably shouldn't be doing to a car that carries our three precious little ones....He's done that before....great Navy training....he's actually "repaired" a brake line with glue, tape, and zippie ties...to get us home from Los Angelos! Only my husband!

No, no, no... it was pink and moist, not gray and dusty.
